If anyone is needing skids, I'd highly recommend RCI.

Josh is a really nice guy, good to work with and best of all, local.

He's got shelves full of IFS skids, trans skids, transfer case skids, LCA skids, gas tank skids. I think he even makes sliders.

Oh, and a note about the fumoto valves....
I did manage to hit mine sometime since my last oil change (probably spring creek)
I had a good 1/2" between the bottom of the nipple and the bottom of my pelfreybilt skid plate but I'm guessing that it was a combination taking a good hard shot that flexed/bent the skid upwards and the right shape rock making it up through the hole.
Anyways, the brass nipple is scratched and the whole valve bent backwards a bit. Actually, it's the oil pan that's bent. Fortunately, nothing is leaking so I'll probably just leave it as is but I might take a dremel and cut another 1/4" off the nipple so it doesn't get hit again.

    What haven’t I changed?
Good to know. I've been meaning to get some skids and my stock one has a dent in it from the last wheeling trip. I just need to reroute my exhaust first.

For what it's worth. .. I Had every intention of getting my exhaust rerouted. I wasn't able to get it done yet and so I was talking to Josh about how his skids work with and without a reroute. Basically, the skid is the same. There's a bar for a spacer in front and the cross member is a bit deeper in the rear. So you could put skids on now and after a reroute remove the bar and swap out the crossmember.
After putting the skids on today and seeing how everything works, I don't think I'll bother with a reroute. If I could do it myself. .. maybe. But I don't think it's worth having done now that I see what's to gain. I wouldn't want one of those humps that other skids have to accomodate the exhaust but you don't have that with these skids.

When you get a chance take a side shot from a distance. I am curious to see how far down it is vs my ATO skid with reroute.

I wish I'd thought of that before I pulled them off again. They're not painted yet.
Does your skid sit flush against the crossmember? If it does, then these are probably an inch lower. You can mount them flush if you've done the reroute of course.
Part of what I'm thinking is that the skids are so much higher than the ifs skid that I can't see that inch making a lot of difference. I also think having it flat beats having a box out sticking down.
If I'm wrong on any of this please school me.

The design you have there IS the best solution for anyone that has not done the reroute IMO. Still keeps everything flat on the bottom. But is there space between the cross over pipe and the skid? If you hit it will it possibly bend upward and contact the pipe? That has potential to rattle a ton.

I will have to get with RCI and get a new tranny skid for mine. So that my flat bottom continues instead of it going up then back down at the cross member. I need to purchase a gas tank skid too. Its the only one missing now.

There is space between the skid and the exhaust. About 1/2 to 3/4" I'm guessing. Maybe even a bit more than if it was new because I have hit the exhaust a bit.
Given the amount of deformation I saw in the front skid, I have no doubt that the potential is there for hitting the exhaust and rattling. I figure if that happens, I can always pull the skid and bfh it back into place.
For the gas tank skid, I'm thinking aluminum is probably the way to go as the whole system has some give to it and it seems more for puncture protection than dent protection. Thoughts?

If you talk to Josh, be sure and tell him I sent you so he can charge you extra.

Don't know which is better on the gas tank actually. AL can be brittle but it would be nice and light.
