Sorry to see that your problems with this continue. I've been pulling up this thread occasionally to see if there's been a solution. Something that may have been covered before, has anyone looked at the motor mounts? Also, have you tried slipping it into N when you are at speed? Not advisable under most circumstances, but if you could do it at a place where you could coast to a stop before re-engaging the transmission, it might be telling regarding the vibrations. At least it would differentiate between speed and RPMs at speed. I like the idea also of the AG's office. Good luck with it.

Yes, we submitted the complaint a couple months ago. They told us to get an attorney.

I believe the dealer changed the motor mounts already as part of a TSB for low speed vibes. We did run it up to 80+ mph and placed it in neutral, it had no effect on the vibration.

    Thank you, Ken

Very nice! I'm a Chevelle guy, but love the '66 Charger!

The wheel covers on the 66 or rather intricate, and heavy, they don't make them like that anymore with good reason. Looks like a 383 2 barrel with the V8 emblem instead of the 383-4 BBL emblem.

Wish I still had mine. :burnrubber:

They are HD for sure. The Charger was born with a 318/2bbl, about 30yrs ago somebody dropped a 383/4bbl in there. About 10 years ago (2k miles)the motor and trans were fully rebuilt, unfortunately I do not have the docs from the rebuild. I'm trying to connect with the guys who completed the work, but it's been difficult. It does run well, no blue and no ticking/knocking at all... shifts really well too.

Nothing like a four barrel. Learned to drive on a 1967 Chevy Caprice with the 327 four barrel. A "family car" that would throw you back against the seat when you punched it and the other two barrels opened up!

Back on topic, to the OP and anyone else interested, regarding the economics of the behavior of auto companies regarding recalls, refunds, etc. Read "Wheels" by Arthur Hailey. It's fiction, but Hailey always did his research and it's still relevant to the industry today.

Update.. We have had 2 firms that handle LL cases contact us for more information.. I'm not going to hold my breath, but I will keep my fingers crossed.

And if that goes nowhere, we have requested the necessary documents to start the small claims process.

    Stock for now...
I sort of "grew up " in the back of Dad's Brushed Aluminum/wine red '66 under that huge rear window . 383/4spd , he traded it for a '67 440-4 auto GTX and drag raced the shit out of that one - went one whole year undefeated and got a buttload of stuff from Chrysler . Car got hit too many times and traded again in '70 - for a black Charger RT/SE 440-6 auto . Piece of shit lemon for first 2yrs , my great uncle fixed that in a big way - 650hp street killer . It ran a few passes @10.80 on 8" slicks , in basic street-legal form . I'll never forget that car , stepmother totalled it in '75....ugh .

He probably found some common sense and just ate his losses for a different truck, and I’m guessing it wasn’t a Toyota after that experience.
