I think you can buy mods to increase the length. I always get emails about em.

I leased mine with the intention of buying it which I will. I couldn't afford the sales tax or higher payment at the time. The residual is insane so I knew id buy it. Worst case scenario if I have to sell it for some reason I will make money :D

C'mon man, I thought you were smarter than that. Deer dive right into the headlights at night if they're close enough to see them. If a deer is on the shoulder close to your lane or in the middle of the road chances are very, very good it will dive it's head right into the headlight.

Therefore, if you see a deer on the shoulder or in the middle of the road the best bet is to shut off the headlights, honk the horn, and the deer will take off away from the vehicle.

Those that sneer at the method remind me of those that used to say "Seatbelts cause more deaths than they save lives."

Have you driven a Baja suspension equipped truck? No? I guess you really don't know anything about the Baja suspension, correct?

I'm not sure why it's such a big deal if somebody defends the Baja kit. It's actually a pretty nice suspension system.

And, there's only about 2000 of them on the road so it's not like you guys know how it handles and drives. I DO know, it's pretty nice.

Your whole concept is completely retarded to the point that I kinda hope this is just a poor trolling attempt rather than an actual approach to driving .

Without getting too technical , a vehicle travels roughly 1.5 feet / second per mph . Reaction time for the average driver is between 1.5 and 2.5 seconds so lets assume 2 seconds for argument's sake .

Travelling at 50 mph , you will have closed the distance to the deer by approx 150' by the time you can either turn off your headlights and / or honked your horn , now I couldn't find any stats on the average deer's reaction time , but let's assume it is similar to the humans , so you travel an additional 150' while you wait for the deer to make up it's mind what it's going to do .

I keep my left hand on the headlight switch, my right hand I have my thumb on the horn button. It's easy to drive with one hand, but prepared. The method has saved me three times from plowing a deer since I learned it in the 1990's. I plowed a deer in Utah 1994 on I-70 just before dawn, there was two of them nuzzling each other in the middle of the lane, one broke off, the other dived into the right headlight. I saw it all the way but couldn't avoid it. I steered away but that deer kept trotting into the right headlight. Decapitated the deer.

When I got back to Colorado I started asking the old-timers how they deal with deer. Of course the first answer is slow down, then they said if you're really close shut the headlights off as fast as you can and honk the horn. It works.

The distance travelled and average driver reaction times remain the same

Yeah, but hands and fingers work faster than feet. If you have your fingers on the headlight switch already and your thumb on the horn button that can save a collision. It works. Along with moderating speed of course. I tend to go a lot slower than most people in wildlife areas at night.
