Is anyone an organ donor?

I am I really can't see a reason not to be!!

i am actually an ear retreival technician... essentially, i go take the donors inner ear (all the bones inside the head).... yes you still have the outside of the ear... but here, even if you say you want to be an organ donor, the family (next of kin) still has to give permission what we can take and what we cant. kinda dumb if you ask me because if you want to donate your body but your family doesnt want to... you didnt get what you want. but to answer your question.... my I.D. has organ donor on it...

 

Ok. Wow great responses guys. I'll check with the mvd if I can get a new license that says I'm an organ donor. My family knows. My mom encouraged me to do it.

 

I had to check...Cause I know I wanted to be but I haven't pulled my license in months and it's been longer since I've really looked at it. I am...and my will and health care proxies say the same thing.

I'm not gunna use them anymore....so why not??

Underneath my picture (PA License) it says ORGAN DONOR in green letters.

I am, have been since I first found out about it. There is an orange sticker on the front and an orange stickere on the back of my license that says so. I also have the problem that Pster has.

 

I'm a donor. My brother was too. I remember the day of his accident they called my mom and asked all kinds of questions about him and his health and all. Really put her through the ringer on probably the worst day of her life. I guess it was neccessary. No time to waste. Parts don't last long on their own.

 

I am considering doing this, but I sure wish there was a way to prevent your donations from going to felons in prison. I just read on the CA site, that they prevent anyone from choosing not to have their organs to go to convicted felons in prison.
If we could chose not to donate to them, then I would be for this 100% and sign up very fast. Is it any different in other states? Maybe I can donate to a different state with different laws.

Yeah it may sound a little harsh, but I'm sure the hell not going to give any organ of mine to some rapist or killer. Or any other jack@ss in prison.

 

that's true. I believe in the death penalty, so why help them survive?lol

im a donor, and thankful my family agrees with me. I just dont see why not because u never know if your going to need someones organs one day.

Ain't that ass backwards. We should be HARVESTING their organs, not giving them new ones.
