Trading in for Tundra Pro

Anyone have thoughts of going up to a tundra? Seen a tundra pro inferno red at my local dealer and really got me thinking.

 

Do you want a tundra? Do you have the money? Only two questions that matter and its all up to you.

 

For the cost you could get base, and build better.
My thought is it's a waste. Keep your taco.

 

Ya that's my main thing right now all the time and money and extras i have in the taco I don't think It would be worth it to trade in

 

What is cost of the Tundra Pro?

 

I believe it was 47k roughly

 

Which isn't much more over the tacoma pro I was surprised

I was thinking around 55 for tundra.

 

I thought I seen tacoma pro's going for about 37k, could be me but 10k doesn't fall in the not much over category.

40k for the tacoma at my local dealer and 47k for the tundra 7k isn't a huge difference and you are getting a whole lot more truck

 

I went from a Speedway Blue 07 Tacoma DCSB 4x4 TRD Sport to an 08 Sequoia SR5 4x4, and regretted it. The Sequoia was nice, the power was great, but 13-16mpg all the time with no lift or tire upgrade, completely stock, killed it for me. The truck wasn't the agile "fun" truck that the Tacoma is, and gas mileage sucked, and I didnt NEED the third row seating (used only a few times) or the additional 3500lbs towing capacity. I ended up trading back to the Tacoma , same exact trim level only this time a brand new 2014 Spruce Mica, and LOVE it, there is nothing I would want to trade it for. Everyone is different, you may love the Tundra, but for me going up to the full size without a NEED to, I regretted it and missed my Tacoma.

I got both. Tundra for trips and towing, tacoma for everything else.

If you are modding the tundra, stick with a base or sr5. Doing your own suspension mods will save big dollars and you can choose the mods you want.

Try to stay away from getting the factory electrical options. There are many reports of GPS and stereo issues as the trucks age. Aftermarket stereos, and others are much better than factory and the choices are endless.

I admit the pro version looks awesome, but I find those versions look dated after a a few years. I keep my trucks a minimum of 6 years, so I could see myself get tired of the look. Just my opinion.

 

Man, I wish my wife would influence me into getting a Tundra. My wife only cares that any car I drive goes from point a to point b.

Theres the reason! Ha! I was in the same boat!

The Tacoma was my wifes daily driver, not mine, so when she started talking about wanting the Sequoia, I left it to her since it was more for her than me. We got the Sequoia because thats what she wanted, and we both ended up with the same feelings about it, it took only a few months and she was saying that she missed the Tacoma. A few years later we had started talking about what she wanted next, and both agreed that we should have kept the 07 Tacoma, so why not just get a brand new one. We almost appreciate the 2014 Tacoma more now.

When we were getting the 2014 we were deciding between Spruce Mica and Barcelona Red, and I am glad we went with Spruce Mica, it really is an amazing color, no pictures ever do it justice.

Either way, just make sure to give the decision it's due thought first and make sure you wont regret it later. If we had kept our 07 Tacoma, it would have been paid for by now!

 

Ya mine had to have a new 2015 yukon so I'm still getting over that.
Certainly another aspect I need to look at mine would be paid off alot faster.

 

Keep the Tacoma is my vote. My biggest anti-Tundra gripe is they are all half tons which work great for some people, but if I have a truck that big and that expensive, it will be a 3/4 ton or 1 ton heavy duty. I already have one, it's a 1997 Powerstroke 7.3 3/4 ton. That and my Tacoma gives me everything I need.

Not only that, Tundras are real fugly imo, Tacoma is the best looking truck offered today I think.
