Ah so sad I use to have the whole HALO megablocks set then me and my GF broke up and well they kinda ended up in the trash compactor

 

Built this with my son tonight.



Really great build - the turtle droid is simple and pretty badass looking.

I want to get another couple of these kits to build an exosuit squad.

 

At the mall near us is a Lego display of historical buildings. My son and I walked around and took pics.

It was pretty awe inspiring, with each one was a plaque with some interesting info on each construction.

^^^ what he said. That's all the info they had on that one. Others mentioned how many pieces, number of hours, etc.
They had a Washington monument sculpture too, it had to be 15+ feet tall. Notsure what happened to that photo.

That's cool. My dad has the VW Bug that we got him several years back (his favorite car and our favorite toy) that he started and never finished. I'm going to have to steal it and finish it for him. I've been waiting at least 5 years now to see it.

 

I recently discovered Toys-R-Us price matching. They wanted $188 for the republic frigate, Amazon had it for $75! Walked up to the manager and asked if she'd honor the price and the kid behind the counter saw how much and very disheartedly exclaimed "I think I even paid $150 for that! And I work here!" Hahahahaaa

I felt like I was stealing it lol.

On November 7th, Lego announced that they would be producing a set based on Tom Poulsom's Bird project submission to Lego Ideas. Lego did an interview with the creator of Birds (21301) where we get a peek at the set and box art.

Because the set uses only existing elements in colors that were already available we get a really quick turnaround on this one. It looks like from approval to sale will be right about 8 weeks, which is pretty impressive. Lego seems to be getting better about churning these fan models out and it gives me pretty high hopes for future projects.

The end result is beautiful and not very far off from the original design, which is a joy. It looks like all they really did was tweak the bases for the models.

Tom Poulsom comments:

The birds are a big challenge to build, building something to look organic from Lego bricks is not easy, but it is a great challenge and one I enjoy very much. I like to think of Lego as the best puzzle in the world.​

Lego already has the 580 piece set listed in their store for $44.99, so excellent value too at just 7.7 cents per element. Unfortunately, we will have to wait just over a month before we can get our hands on one as it will not available for purchase until January of 2015.

 

Yeah, I would buy that.

 

Found some creations I made when I was younger. My best friend was really big into fast and the furious type stuff so we would build our own cars.

I'll call this a land cruiser lol add some rubber bands and it has a working suspension.
