For bonus points it appears as though one could even use it while in motion. If one wished to that is. ;)

That is great Deadhed. I seem to be the only one who can't figure out how you mounted it though. Could you explain?

That's worth getting plate bumpers for.

I think the same, although I wonder if this could work without plate bumpers. The back could mount to the bed but I am not sure of something strong enough for the front mount.

They make them for your trailer hitch but they're not inexpensive. Still cheaper than buying a plate bumper if that's your primary motivating factor.

Thanks for that info. Hmm, I wonder if something could double as a flagpole (for the patriotic holiday driver) and a hammock mount that mounts inside the bed. Because the flag is already on my list (and don't want to use a hitch mount)

I welded tubing inside the bumpers at about 45° so all you see on the outside is a small hole. The 2 supports just slide into the bumper and mate flush with with the outide of the bumper. I think I have more pics in my build if that doesn't make sense.

Nope, makes sense. Just couldn't tell if that in the pic was tubing or the pole itself. Thanks for the explanation. Also, nice job making it clean.

Add that to some fishing pole mounts and a day at the beach and you've got it made

Bored on a rainy day today and tinkered around and came up with this. Some old bike parts and a cheapo flashlight. It swivels on two planes to aim where you want it. As usual not pretty but frugal and useful. :)
