I've been up here for half a year, and I think I'll stay in Alaska for a while. The cold hasn't been nearly as bad as it is made out to be (but it isn't Jan. yet). I have friends and family that want to come visit, but under no circumstances will they come visit in the winter. I haven't seen any of the state except for Fairbanks and the Yukon Flats region.

Ideas for a mom trip-nothing extreme. Prefers comfort over adventure. Would like something on the road system. Any good sights or areas you like?

Ideas for a dad trip-I'm thinking of taking him on a hunting trip. What would be a good start, a fly in- fly out caribou hunt?

Ideas for an adventure trip- I have a friend who likes to "ruff it" and likes to hike and camp. What would be a good destination in the interior or north slope?

Friend who wants to fish- I imagine this would mean salmon. Is there a place where it is easy to fish without a boat, or is that pretty much a requirement? The Yukon has a lot of salmon, but it's so muddy you won't catch anything without a fish wheel.

All the way down to Homer is a good drive with plenty of spots to stop and eat (or sleep) along the way

I would think Denali would be perfect for this.

Kenai/Soldotna, Ship Creek(Anchorage), Bird Creek (just South of Anchorage), possibly even Seward. Then with a boat those places and Homer, Valdez and pretty much everywhere else lol.
