    1. Do you have solid ground connections? That could potentially be causing both problems.

What does the bar draw and what size wire are you using?

The light bar wire is considerably bigger gage wire and I guess the bar draws 7.8 amps as for harness wire maybe 12-14 gage?

I agree with everything said above, and I drew up this drawing below to help you troubleshoot how the harness is wired. The drawing assumes that the harness uses a standard SPDT relay and hopefully there is a fuse in the circuit as well. If it's wired correctly, I'd break out the DMM and verify the resistance from the relay side to ground.

If you have any questions about the drawing, let me know.

where do the red and blue wires go to? i would assume one of those goes to the relay for the light bar.

Both are headed to the relay

So would this be the problem then? as in the sketch the relay needs to be grounded

Relay should be grounded, if it isn't I would start there. Do you have a pin #85 on your relay?

x2. If there is no ground in theory the LED bar shouldn't work, but I've worked on electronics/electrical equipment enough to know that theory goes right out the window in the real world and all electrical items work on F.M. (Flippin' Magic). No ground on a circuit can cause some funny reactions on the circuit.

I'm thinking of mocking up my bumper Saturday afternoon with cardboard/tape and doing a manual transmission fluid change. Ghost you still open? I'm helping someone move at 10am then I should be free.
