Saw a post for a small wallet in the live thread tonight. My wife ordered me one for a Christmas present but she does not know it yet. ;)

What have I started?!?:p I'm really enjoying the guesses. I'll take bottom row 3rd from left, minus the chin fuzz.

Charlie, wow you are having a bad patch. We'll keep the good vibrations going.

Susan, we cleaned up leaves for 6 hours straight this past weekend. Still have a couple of trees that refuse to let go, but we're on the home stretch now.

This is not good on a lot of levels. I would like to know what the sailors were told prior to shore leave. It is so easy to second guess their decision on how they behaved. Part of me wanted to see a fight ensue but I do not know what they were told.

    I would not disagree Ken.

How have you been. I seem to have been busier a lot more lately.

Given what I can make of the situation from the video, those young sailors played it smart IMHO. It's apparent they were significantly outnumbered and the reporter stated no one in the crowd was stepping forward to defend them.

I do wonder where the Gendarmerie were? During my remote tour in Balikesir, Turkey, we couldn't walk very far around town without realizing Gendarmerie (2 men normally) were following us around. The only time I didn't see them was when I was with a group of my Turkish friends. At first I thought we (Americans) were the ones being watched; I learned pretty quick that they were making sure no one messed with us. But that was 24 yrs ago...very different times. And I'm not sure what authority the Gendarmerie have in a large city like Istanbul; Balikesir was a relatively small town largely agriculturally based next to a Turkish Air Force Base.

I also know from my Turkish friend, that politics in Turkey have become very divided in recent years, with a movement towards traditional Islamic values opposing the Secular values which Ataturk established in the 1920s. That area of the world is very unstable and unpredictable IMHO. :(

EDIT: My Turkish friend was my co-worker and bird hunting partner before he took another job in Florida. He and his wife are American citizens, but all of their family still live in Turkey; we still talk at least once a month or so.

Charlie, I hate to see you suffer, but you have been an inspiration to me. I was afraid of letting doctors touch me prior to your tribulations (I have a 6" vasectomy scar). Now I'm working harder not to start down the slippery slope of medical care.

Morning all! 11* here this morning.

The house is holding at 67 with one woodstove going. If it does not warm up by the weekend I'll fire up the second one. 2700[]' on one floor. I can feel the breezes along the floor as the air moves from hot to cold areas of the house.

It is a wonder the brains do not melt out of the dogs' ears as they lay with their heads under the stove.

I'm sure everyone is appreciating the woodstove about now. Try to stay warm. :)

Been good Tom, thanks. Staying out of trouble is harder than working:eek:...still working with my son and driving for the dealership when they call. But I still am not nearly as busy as you are. Take care of yourself and enjoy life a bit:D...

No problem Rob, sometimes I get cranked up and forget to say "HI" as well.
    X2 on Tom.

Hi Mike, I burnt wood for a lot of years and the wife called me "the wood whore" because I was always splitting, stacking or carrying wood into the house. Finally I switched to coal:rolleyes:...it was easier to bring in a 5 gallon bucket of coal a day than all the wood I would need for a day. Coal heated the house much hotter than wood but my God, it was a lot dirtier...now I just heat with gas (only because the kids moved out and can't have them bring in wood or coal):D
