Shot a F/A FNC and MG42 today, and my AKs. It was a good day.

I got my living room almost put back together. Walls will be painted today, then on to flooring. Just in time for turkey day.

I'd like to paint my AR for this deer season (Should have my 6.8 running soon, found a scope I can borrow from my 30-30, all I need is a hand guard, magazine, and gas block roll pin).
Any ideas on pattern/color to use?
The area I'm hunting is mostly pines and underbrush.
I was going to make some templates and just use spray paint.

If you use normal spray paint you will wish you had not. You will wear regular spray paint home from the range. Gun oils and solvents eat that stuff like candy. Use some AHII or Brownell's version of GunKote.

The gun oil shouldn't be on the paint, I only wipe down my blued guns with gun oil, the anodizing doesn't need it.
But thanks for the heads up.

I've had no such problems using regular camo paint and then using 2 -3 coats of satin clear. Just a little care when using your cleaning products and you wont have any problems. This rifle was done three years ago and still looks like the day I did it.

    I know it's not an AR but I don't paint my AR's...

Do you want a red dot or a low power magnification scope?

    Could get a 1-4...nikon has their M223 1-4 and a Leupold 1.5-4, each for $300

There's also a couple Burris red dots that have a $100 rebate, putting them at $250 and $300.

I'd wait 2 weeks and see what Black Friday brings.

Satoshi, debadged, rear view mirror bracket, tail gate hose clamps, trimmed mud flaps.
Vortech red dots can be bought for around $150.
