If I remember my history correctly the .40 was originally developed as a replacement for the FBI's standard .38 service revolvers after the '86 Miami shootout. The FBI wanted something that had more energy than a 9mm or a .45 and tried out the 10mm, but too many of their agents couldn't handle the recoil of the full-power 10mm loads. They started using reduced power 10mm's (the '10mm lite' or '10mm FBI' loads), and collaborated with S&W to develop the .40 as a reduced-recoil alternative to the 10mm.

So I guess technically it's the answer to the question that the FBI asked?

Personally, I also prefer the 9mm & the .45, but having shot several .40's I'd disagree with the assertion that it's too snappy. I don't notice a difference between the recoil from a 9mm and the recoil from a .40 on full-size pistols, and it's perfectly manageable on compact and subcompacts for me, too. :notsure:

All I can think while looking at this is it has FAILURE TO FEED written all over it…I am starting to hear the Black Talon issues all over again from some ATF and some Federal FBI guys in my office building..

You are better off using proven Defensive Ammo at third of the cost like HST,Remington,Hornaday,Barnes etc: and I would be afraid of a lawsuit with this ammo.

This is nothing more than a novelty ammo plain and simple stick with stuff that works and save money….

Carry a 45 and you won't have to worry about penetration or stopping power…..

I have used the Double Tap ammo and I like it but my new fav is Barnes I will see if I can find my gel pictures from a range day with a barnes rep….

Another ammo I like a lot is Liberty ammo a 50 grain lead free projectile moving at 2000 fps…..

Complete garbage just like that RIP ammo posted above. I'll take 40S&W over this crap.

Comes with experience greater than sitting around on internet forums trying to felate others with the latest greatest whizz-bang thing they found in their inbox.

Don't believe me then, do your own research and you'll learn for yourself. Research doesn't mean watching the marketing video that the seller of said product puts out. Both of those snake oil rounds have gobs of third party information that prove how shitty they are and the creators of said products should burn for convincing people their product will make them safer when in reality it could likely cost someone their life if deployed in an effort to defend themselves or their loved ones.

    Yowzas.
    Jam-o-matic.
Looks like a breakthrough new revolver round...for kids who've played too much Halo.

Only to be used in a brightly polished nickel-plated cheap revolver, held sideways by a man in extremely baggy pants whilst wearing an extremely flat-brimmed hat.

It reminds me MOST of a M&P full size or Sig P22x. If you switch out the backstrap to the flat one it has the grip of a 1911.

I am a big fan of Ranger SXT and Gold Dot. Proven ammo. I use these exclusively in all my 9mm.
