jumper cables backwards... abs and brake light on

Accidently mixed up jumper cables... after i got it running abs and brake light are on. odb2 reads code 34 - left rear speed sensor. replaced sensor and light is still on, giving same code 34. all fuses under the hood look fine and everything else is also running fine, just no abs. have read forums that say it potentially fried the abs actuator? wandering if anyone has dealt with this situation before i have to go to dealer. thanks

Always try the simple things first.

I'd start by disconnecting the battery for five minutes, and then clearing the codes.

If they return, then you probably have a problem.

Physically remove and test the brake and abs system fuses - they sometimes "look" OK but are still blown.

That's all I've got.

I'm glad that wasn't yours. I bet it hurts worse coming out than it did going in.

 

Any conclusion here.? someone jumping my truck tonight put their end backwards. I also have ABS, e-brake, and traction control lights on.

Going to disconnect for 5-10 minutes tomorrow and diagnose. ‍♂️‍♂️

 

Get a Norco jump battery pack. It has backward jump protection circuits.

 

Usually the worst thing is a popped fuse, get a multimeter and actually test all fuses under the hood. Do not just visually check them, actually test them.

 

Yeah that was my plan cuz most look ok visually.
