A local no name gas station near me carries ethanol free 91 octane gas and with gas prices dropping it's just as expensive as the regular 87 octane 10% ethanol crap I had been using before the prices dropped. They also have 87 octane with only 5% ethanol.

So far on the first tank, (I waited to fill up until my low gas light came on) I have noticed smoother starts and idling and I haven't calculated my mpg yet (I will at the next fill up) but I am at 160 miles and haven't hit the 1/2 full mark yet on my guage with mixed driving. I usually barely hit the 160 mile mark at 1/2 tank with all highway driving. :)

Yep.... that ethanol is crap. Especially for smaller engines like on motorcycles, water craft, snow-mobiles.... Good find

I wonder how much if any difference the 5% ethanol 87 gas compared to the 10% would make since its about .25 cents a gallon cheaper than the ethanol free 91 octane?

I just drove by a station in Seattle near Magnusson Park with Ethanol free gas. I think it's on 35th Ave NE. I didn't see what the octane rating was and I had a half tank and figured mixing would tell me much.

I know of a station near me, but they charge as much for the e-free has as most other stations do for premium, so no thanks.

Eth-free is still $4+ around here. I used to use it when eth-blend was in the high $3 range. Definitely ran better in my Taco, as does Premium eth-blend. But, I'm back to running 87 eth-blend for now.

Huh, interesting. In my state, most of the listings are marinas or real close to lakes. Boat motors must do better on E-free?

91 octane ethanol-free gasoline is available here, but the price has been a consistent $4.56 a gallon.

My fuel mileage jumped up about 2 mpg with non-ethanol 87. It's worth the extra cost.

We've had problems in our boat with seals & gaskets wearing out that the mechanics have blamed on Ethanol. They swear by E-free gas.

We have a few around here and I've thought about putting it in my truck to try since most of my driving is around town but I wonder if I would benefit from it or is it ok to run ethanol free gas since my truck was built in the ethanol gas times

I learned the other day that there's a 24-hour station with ethanol free 91 in New Lebanon. One of these nights when the truck is low and I'm bored I'll have to take a ride to NY and fill it to see if I notice a difference.

I think this is because a lot of guys run old Johnson motors from the 60s that were not built with ethanol in mind so it eats through things.

I try tp fill up when I can with ethanol free gas.it is almost the same price as premium 10% down here,i didn't reall notice any increase in mpg,or any change in the numbers on the scan gauge.its definetly better on small engines.

There are only a few ethanol free stations in Kentucky, I wish there were more stations close to me, I'm not near any, but, it may be worth the long drive.

stiochiometric numbers for gas is 14.7: and pure ethanol is around 9:1 so for easy math sake we will say it takes twice as much ethanol to do the same job as gasoline (as u can see im rounding up quite a bit). if 10% of your fuel burns 1/2 has efficiently then that will net u a total loss of 5% (10%*1/2=5%) so if pure gas is more than 5% more in cost than e10, from stickly a mpg standpoint its not worth it (especially since its not quite a 5% difference since i rounded up) that would be going from 21 mpg to 20mpg for those who are counting.
