Ok folks, this is a pretty specific question and is bothering me...

First, it is '11 Access Cab, 4x4, six speed, which might have different driveshafts that automatics or double cabs.

I have the "bad" habit of hitting every grease fitting EVERY oil change, including all the driveshaft grease fittings...(this truck is easy since it is only the driveshaft, the 62 M37 Military Power Wagon has what seems to be dozens with leaf spring bushings, drag link, tie rods, steering knuckles, u-joints, drive shaft splines)

While the back u-joints are easy to get to and grease, as in the rear u-joint on the front shaft. The FRONT ujoint on the FRONT driveshaft is frustrating me. I cannot get enough grease into the joint to come out the four seals at the caps. I pulled the shaft off the front differential flange on Monday and that was a pita. The 14mm head nuts and bolts were SO tight, I had to get my better 1/2" drive impact gun out. The 30 year old blue point 1/2" gun no longer had the torque to move them.

Then I tried to grease it with the ujoint fully exposed and failed, then I pulled the zerk fitting and verified that grease was going through the fitting but also leaking out fitting attachment. Then I tried a new attachment on the grease gun, with no success. Then I looked in my index of grease fittings and the 6mm fittings seems to have a thread that was too coarse.

Before I order a new box of 6mm fittings (or in this case, a index of ONLY 6mm fittings), does someone have a good spec or drawing or parts callout on that specific grease fitting?

And a secondary question, how are the driveshaft splines lubricated? They seem to be sealed under boots.

Now is there an online fiche?

might be a passage problem internal the u-joint. if its bothering you, just replace the u-joint with a new one since you already have the drive shaft out.

Heck, the driveshaft went back in when I got done fiddling with it...and what I might do is simply order a set of spare U-joints for the front driveshaft and put them on the shelf...now does Rock Auto and Auto Zone do not list the u-joint. Do we have a supplier or part number?

    Got some answers...

I was unable to get a good front u-joint number up to calling the dealership. The put the thought replacing a perfectly good and tight u-joint to the back burner.

But I did order a selection of 6mm grease fittings in 6mm x .5, 6mm x .75 and 6mm x 1. I suspect the .5 or the .75 will be the finer thread that I need. I also ordered an inexpensive metric grease fitting index, 110 fittings for $15 with the most common metric fittings. The days of the 59 cent SAE fitting assortment at the FLAP are gone.
