OK; LOTS of discussion on LED replacelemnt bulbs, for DRL, Turn Signal, Stop etc.
ALso some discussion of poor quality; short lifespan, flickering, etc. Sellers include: Putco, Triton, Autolumnination, Superbrightleds, JDMToy, etc.

    --------------
So I'm looking to buy the following from Triton:
For Front Turn signal DRL - AMBER PLATINUM 21 LED BLINKER TURN SIGNAL BULBS 3157 3156 4157 3157CK | 1 PAIR (will use CK model and load resistors - switchback isn't necessary imo...)

    For High Mount Stop Light - RED 4 LED HIGH POWER BULBS 194 168 158 | 1 PAIR **OR** 94 RED 6 LED HIGH POWER 360° | 1 PAIR
    ---------------

Which seller has everyone been choosing and after 2-3 years, how are they holding up (if anyone has had them that long...)
Are they bright enough especially considering DRL usage.

superbrightleds.com was recommended to me many years ago.

I put their bulbs in my 1989 5 years ago and they are going strong to this day with no problems (I still need to do my tach and heater controls)

    dash_zps2ed6df6d_9a1b0b3f37efb09b5204003a46ca64d0d04d6000.jpg

I had to let my Tacoma sit for a month after I bought it so I could roll my 1989 to this point.

    Update:
Decided I wanted to keep the amber drl look.

Talked to Chris however he said his amber only 3157ck is not as bright as the 4157nak bulb.

So looked at the SUPERBRIGHT specs, and all showed a fairly low amber lumen specification, even in the switchbacks.

So looked at VLEDs, where their lumen claim was much higher, and went with their amber 3157ck.
They are as bright as the bulb (did side/side) and it's been in a week or so now. Their bulb construction shows a pretty good aluminum heat sink which makes me more confident they'll last. ALso bought their 194 6-led amber for the front corner lights, and red 194 6-led for the high mount stop lite. Bonus was that he front lenses are essentially white/clear look w/o that lights-off amber look and just a bright as bulbs.
Stop lite is about the same with the fast-on leds matching the tail lights. Only installed a pair and left a bulb in the middle and all works well. (all are sold by the pair)
Resistors in the rear when i get them so only heat in turn signal mode; In the meantime spliced in an extra 1157 bulb socket behind each tail light secured to the frame to give proper load for normal flash. (used up my useless bulb inventory.) I may leave the bulbs back there at this point - wth, it works!!.

I have V-LED bulbs in the 3rd brake light and reverse lights for about two years, with -10F being the lowest temperature they've been exposed to last winter. They are brighter than stock. No problems so far.

Get them off eBay. You can find them dirt cheap. No need to pay overpriced third party reseller prices.

I did natural white from superbrightLEDs for map and some light. Still on the blue side but they are bright and not too blue for me. Just installed them so don't know about longevity.

Why not Ebay? I considered quality of manufacture, hot environment, lumens, warranty, data available on the site, other experiences this site...

So Superbrights 3157 CK model, 45 leds, 110 lumens claimed (amber), versus Vleds 3157 CK with 21 leds, 170 lumens. Small space always-on DRL's (no drl-off setting on my truck), considering cooling of the led package in summer sun, engine compartment heat-soak (after turn off on hot day), etc. Have to consider these are electronic devices with dozens of solder connections susceptable to repetitive expanding/contracting...

Figured if VLEDs was packaging with a large heat sink (black base below), for their 'ok for drl usage' bulb, it was maybe +$5. but probably worth it... time will tell.

Go with CSJumper, he is a great dude!

I ordered every LED I could replace in my truck from him. Had one go bad and had no issue getting a replacement.

Same here, had my one of my map lights burn out, as well as one of my license plate bulbs in less than a year. Had much better luck with superbrightleds. Was not happy with my purchase through here with my Tacoma. So far the superbrightleds on my tacoma have lasted over a year, so I would say this is a win.
