The NBC guys were waving their arms around after the race about how Hamilton HAD TO WIN Abu Dhabi in order to win the championship. Didn't sound quite right to me.

Hamilton might be a Senna fan but I don't see him taking out Rosberg just to win the championship. I may be wrong but I think he'd rather lose in a clean battle than win that way.

 

Yes RIC is mathematically out. he 120 points behind HAM and 193 points behind ROS.

RIC's been mathematically out since the finish at Russia. even a win in the last three races after Russia, along with out of points finish in all three by HAM would have seen RIC lose to HAM by 2 points. ROS would have need only 44 points cumulatively in last three races of the season to win over RIC in that very unlikely scenario.

Hobbs tweeted he was confused about the points, and misspoke during the broadcast.

 

Hamilton was real lucky his bobble didn't cost him a DNF, good recovery and smart driving at the end. I think Nelson Piquet needs to polish up his English. Was a terrible interview of the drivers.

I wish they'd just go back to v8's or 10's and drop all the eco shit.

 

Renault lobbied for the change to V6's , Honda only joined again because of the V6's and Mercedes has stated they would pull out if they moved away from the V6's

The man's probably right about trying to advertise to 15 year olds on the side of an F1 car. When I was 15 I was still into drag racing; I was a much more mature, much wealthier 17 years of age before I got into F1.

I think there is a lot of concern over the current formula. I doubt anyone other than oz would say the current state of f1 is the best it has ever been.
Can this current formula transform into something great? I don't know.

I personally feel f1 should be the pinnacle of Motorsport and racing technology. I don't really care about kers or ERS. I am willing to give it a chance though.
