Last summer I built an electric motorcycle. Its built on the frame of a 1987 honda cbr. It has 6 batteries for a total of 72volts. During my testing, it has a 0-60 time of 6 seconds, and a 0-40 time of 2.5 seconds. With the performace settings, it has about a 10 mile range. With the correct settings, it can get an estimated 20+ mile range.

This would be a great commuter bike. It could be driven to work, charged (the on-board charger takes about 2hrs.), and then driven home.

I do not have a title for the bike (thanks to our lovely DOT). However, everyone seems to have a friend-of-a-friend who can "get a title".

I am currently in college and could use the money. I can email pics if anyone wants them. Feel free to make me an offer. like i said, i need the money so any offer will be seriously considered.

    Thanks, matt z

No title? Sorry to be a prick, but you need to post this on "damnfools.com" to find a buyer for a motor vehicle with no title.

Why can't you get a title? And if you can't, how is someone else supposed to? Call me silly....

I have no title because the previous owner is a dick. and because the DOT says that it is considered a 'homebuilt' and they no longer title homebuilts in my area.

as far as having someone else getting a title... swapping out the tags on the bike would solve that. it would be illegal, but impossible to track.

sounds abit shady unfortunatly, and $4000 I could get a cbr125 or even a cbr 600 that will get better mpg and super fast too, I know its not the same but I think you may find it hard to unload it.glws

Sorry, now you are going to have to try to sell it on www.dumbshit.com.

Impossible to track? They don't have to track anything. When numbers come up wrong, they confiscate the vehicle and arrest you. The assumption in that case is that it's stolen.

Plus, if you don't have the title in your name, it's not yours, and it's not yours to sell.

Perhaps you should kiss and make up with the previous owner.

Sorry to rain on your parade, but reality bites.

Each "Tag" corresponds to a matching VIN if they don't match then you are in for some problems

PR45 is correct. If you are in possesion of the vehicle ( electric M/C with fictitious LP's) you the rider are now responsible for that vehicle or in this case M/C. And yes the name on the title is the "LEGAL OWNER" of the vehicle. I don't know how things work in Wisconsin but in Texas you are going to be arrested and it won't stop there.

PR45 said it kiss and make up with the person that sold it to you in the first place. You are trying to get rid of your problem by selling to someone else for 4K. Just my opinion.

i didnt buy the bike from the previous owner. the bike shop i bought it from has a bill of sale from the previous owner to them, and i have a bill of sale from them to me. they tried to get the title transfered, but like i said, the DOT is having issues and the previous owner doesn't want to get involved.

I always planned on selling the bike, hopefully to get some money for college. Now I have 4K worth of parts in my garage....

Best thing to do, is to file for an abandoned title. Get e new title and have that in hand. Otherwise, you have a good idea, and someone may want it, but until you get a title, noone will touch it.
