I was in upstate NY over the summer. I saw rust on body panels and was like,"Oh, yeah. I forgot about that." It was fairly rare to see a vehicle over 10 years of age.

All this frame recall talk made me nervous so I went and inspected my frame. My truck had been in Oregon for a year and Wisconsin for a year so had some reasoning to being a little nervous. Found a couple spots of surface rust and wondered if that was something to worry about. Then I saw some of the pictures posted by folks getting new frames. Holy... bat... guano.

They use a lot of Mag Chloride on the roads now. I hate it.

Because he's at least 67 years old in my best estimation.

The front range of Colorado is considered a steppe climate. Just one steppe up (what I did there... did you see it?) from a desert.

Very interesting. Searched on "driest state in the US", came back with this list:

    1 Nevada
    2 Utah
    3 Wyoming
    4 Arizona
    5 New Mexico
    6 Montana
    7 Colorado
    8 North Dakota
    9 Idaho
    10 South Dakota

    http://www.currentresults.com/Weather-Extremes/US/driest-states.php

    A bit surprising.

Interesting list, Montana and Idaho are surprising to me.

Just think about how dry the front range and western slope of Colorado are with those figures taking into consideration the snowfall in the alpine climate of our state. Granted the moisture content of our snow is very low, but still....

Yup... My parents moved to Terrebonne(30min north of Bend) last year... it's surprising how dry it is, yet how much snow they get... they had over 2' last year total, and got about 8" last week...

Yeah don't know I am no scientists take it up with the guys who did the research.
We haven't had rain all year here in so Cal . Maybe a sprinkle or two. If they split California in half I would think so Cal would rank higher in the winter.
