will agree with you traeger are nice friend of mine in college had one at her house was there almost ever weekend. however they are pricey depending on model.
I been looking at the masterbuilt, Cabelas branded ones and a few others I been reading up on.

Nice, I've never bought a firearm from a cabellas though. I usually use my buddies that are in home FFL's to get the price break. I've been eyeing the cabellas ones too but I'd like to talk to someone who owns one to see how they work. My friends work at the one down south but I wasn't driving down there when I'm 25min from the thornton one.

I just finished two whole chickens today!!!

New breeze, bye bye if you wanna start throwing out language like that about us!!

OST, I think bass pro had the master built on sale for like 149 or something when I bout the bradley. I would still rock a traeger, just gotta find the big one cheap. The junior elite is to small, and the big tex is to expensive :)

Question about your traeger, did you get the digital controller or any other of the gadgets and what not that would be a "must buy" if I got one here soon.

I do have the internal digital thermostat. It's a must have.

    That's all I have.

But two things that would be nice is the add-on shelf (for placing beans, basting juices, and anything else in containers that won't drip below) and the folding table/shelf thing for the front of the smoker.

I've heard that's a must just good to get opinions. Now for the million dollar question. What size? Is bigger better or do the smaller and medium ones heat more evenly? What size is yours and is it big enough for cooking for a small group, Like 5-10.

It was a tractor supply store that had them for $135 shipped. If I recall I got mine for closer to $100 shipped when I got it. Don't get me wrong, the Traeger are awesome smokers but I've never had anyone refuse to try my food because it came out of a MES30 and even fewer tell me my 'que sucks. I think too many people think they HAVE to get a high dollar stick burner to get good quality 'que and the bottom line is you don't. I get smoke rings and amazing bark all day long and the best part is I set the temp and go to bed. I don't have to baby sit squat and when my remote thermometer says 203 I know I've got amazing juicy pulled pork ready to be pulled. There's something to say for inexpensive and simplicity when it comes to BBQ. The only thing easier than an electric smoker is driving to a BBQ restaurant and placing an order but that's even a close call that is weather & distance dependent.

I don't know if they've released more models since I've bought mine, but I bought the medium sized one (of three).

I typically smoke two spare rib racks at a time, but can accommodate three if need be. Just makes moving them around a bit tricky. I can do two large chickens or three smaller chickens at a time also.

This is why I want to get the small shelf thing to add in there. So I can also make beans and such at the same time.

I remember seeing the big model at Costco when I purchased mine and thought "holy f--- that's huge." Definitely more than what I need.

I can't speak for the small or large model but mine heats very evenly. Makes for gorgeous food... and the thermostat makes it so simple.

I heard the junior elite traeger uses the same element as the bigger one which is why it has big temp issues cooking on smoke mode. All of them have quirks, the Bradley has temp swings but smokes awesome, the traeger isn't insulated and doesn't smoke great but can reach high temps and do it all. All depends on whatcha want really.

I will say don't expect a smoke ring on any electric smoker with a heating element it won't happen. Traeger will give smoke rings because they use the pellets as the heat source.

My smoked chickens for the week are the bomb!!! Smoked on alder wood

Smoke rings and the food is awesome. But the traeger is good for every day stuff.

I get perfect smoke rings (and more importantly flavor) with the Traeger.

And yes, you can also use it for every day cooking too. Hell, for S&Gs I made cookies from the recipe book. Ridiculous.

My neighbor uses his every day. It's amazing, he fills the neighborhood with the smoke. I show up with a plate and fork.
