Disagree. I have an electric smoker and like I said, I get smoke rings. Just for looks too so I'm not too concerned about it as I'm not in a competition... just feeding deadbeat friends.

 

Guess you will just have to make me something so I can judge.

Hmmm look up the scientific thing that happens you aren't supposed to get it from an electric smoker with a heating element like the Bradley. Where does your master built get its heat from?

 

I agree it's tough but you can cheat and add a meat tenderizer. That will make the nitric acid build up and create a smoke ring like the ones given by traditional wood and charcoal smokers. But it's cheating in my book.

I haven't! I'm smoking a turkey for turkey day. Been doing that for the last few years.

 

Electric heating element.

Not adding anything for smoke ring because I think it's a silly standard by which people judge food anyway. Especially when we're talking about back yard BBQ'ing. Taste matters.

I'm gonna deep fry a bird, last years was freaking unbelievable!!

 

I usually score a couple turkey breasts and then fry one in the turkey fryer and one in the smoker. Creates a delicious conundrum everyone should be faced with.

 

Oh I don't add anything I get great smoke rings. But my smoker takes work, lots of time... And beer

I was just saying how it is possible to get a good smoke ring if using a non traditional smoker, or just new to the BBQ and need the help to fit in with the cool kids

 

Yeah I'll do two if we have people coming over but it's just my fam this year so I'm just doing one and I prefer the smoked ones.
