Where's my share? I love mac&cheese haha

My wife hates the stuff in a box, basically doesn't like that powder cheese stuff so she has a recipe where she makes the cheese sauce with velveeta. It's pretty good.

 

Next time try a better quality cheddar, mozzarella, and a Monterey Jack cheese blend. I also like Velveeta so I am not dissing Velveeta. I mix some of the blended cheeses in the cream mix and put some non melted cheese mix in with the pasta mix. Yesterday I also added a pack of Italian sausage to the casserole.

 

A lot better than I expected. I could really not taste the difference in the pasta once it cooked. I really paid attention to the cooking time of the pasta due to your comments concerning overcooking the pasta.

 

That's not a bad idea actually. We have some velveeta in the fridge that we need to use so maybe we'll try it tonight depending on when my wife gets home. It's been snowing since I got up so traveling on the interstate may get rough later this evening...

 

It is all about using what you have on hand to stretch your meal budget.

I do that all the time.
