I'm all for getting the spare out from underneath the bed (if that helps in your spending decision).

True. Advantage to that too if I get a rear bumper first is that I'll have a OEM bumper and Class III hitch I can sell to recoup the costs.

I sold my stock rear bumper within a week of putting it up for sale. Some poor guy had to use is as a recovery bumper. It looked like the back of his truck was smiling.

    Learn to steer. :p :D

BTW, SGT Taco and I are talking about a Monticello Canyon run in the early spring. You think you might be able to get back out to Holloman by then?

Stock front bumper will flex. Rear bumper and quater panels won't.

I hit the lower plastic on my front bumper but I drag my receiver in the rear. I figure I can craigslist the OEM bumper and receiver for about $300 which gets me halfway to a front bumper.

A front bumper allows me to mount a winch but I'd also need to upgrade the struts (OME 881's currently) if I were to mount a winch. I have been considering put a winch in a cradle so I can winch from the front or the rear.

Based on dealer and RockAuto prices. I'm guessing $200 for a basically new OEM chrome bumper and $100 for the Curt receiver. Truthfully, I haven't priced them on that site yet.

Yeah, I'm probably high balling the numbers. If I get less, I get less. It's all profit either way.

Yep, list makes sense to me. Reason it's called an Alpine Desert.

I sold my rusty rear stock bumper for like $150 and my broken front one for like $100. I just looked on CL and listed mine accordingly compared to the others and people paid it. Course I had them listed for like $200 and they offered lower but I took it. :notsure:

I got $100 for my stock rear bumper. It had minor rust where the rock chips were on the inside. I almost gave it to the guy after seeing the one he mangled. Felt so bad for him.
