Sorry I missed it. You guys might have seen me as you were leaving, trying to figure out what was wrong with my buddy's Heep. Ended up dropping a bearing on the way down and made it back to Alameda all in 4th gear.

Hopefully everyone had a good time.

Super fun times! I was feelin great after getting through that first mud/rock/log obstacle without touching the clutch once. Then I was super stoked to go up truck hill. Check that one off the list. My pride and confidence took a bit of a hit after not making up that last trail. Thanks everyone for all your help trying to get me up it. Wish I had pics, my cameras not working. Some pics I wanna see, some I prob don't :spy: (like the supposed slo mo video of my stuck adventure )

    Fun day.

Started at obstacle course one, staircase, then obstacle course 2 (aka "Adventure Track" on the map)

Lunch at the base of Truck Hill. A few folks went up.

A little confusion about "which way next" then over to McCray Road as it serpentines through the McCrayZ double-diamond-obstacle trail.

Up Bonanza Gulch trail then an unmarked fence road along the east side pereimeter, and onto Reed Trail.

Down Garner Flat Rd, Prospect Rd, past Obstacle Course 1, and onto the Lupine Loop.

Then we cut off the Lupine loop on an uncharted black road that empties out onto Quail Trail. Bert got hung up there; open-open he couldn't get past some pretty deep ruts. I think we spent nearly an hour trying to spot him through there, then turned around and headed for the exit as it was getting on towards sunset.

The folks in front (I think) made it on up to Quail Trail, and thence to McCray Rd and up to the summit at Hector Heights.

Woulda been kinda nice if the guy in front of Bert had kept a close enough eye on "the guy behind" to have been able to give him a strap to get him through that tight spot. But in the end - no big deal and no point in crying over spilt milk. Guys behind all got plenty of practice at trying to spot with different angles, approaches, and traction aides (rocks, tree branches, etc...) We were on the verge of breaking out serious road-building gear (shovels etc...) when we decided to just turn tail instead because of the hour.

Good to see the guys I've met before, and nice to meet new folks. James, bravo on a first day wheeling.

It was great meeting everyone, had a blast taking my truck on its first wheeling trip. Thank you Steve for some great pointers. While going home saw a honda civic spinning out on 880. Hope everyone got home safe.

A better driver could probably get through that. I seem to have a habit of sticking to ruts . Keak, no worries. I was the goof who got stuck and didn't think to radio you two in front. I'm gonna work on my lines and communication.

Thanks to all who helped me out. I didn't want to hold everyone up. All of you said sorry for not getting me up that. Sorry for not getting YOU up... It was fun to go for it though. I don't think I can make the Pleasanton meet and greet, but first round is on me when I do

Doesn't that newb know the trail is the other way?!?

Ok, while it may have my head hanging abit lower, that pic doesn't show the depth and walls of the rut very well...
