Which might mean something if it weren't SEMA, where the same thing could be said for 99.99999997% of the stuff there.

There's definitely truth in that. But I've NEVER seen a SEMA Tacoma anywhere near that F'd up.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
Have you not paid attention to all the quality control issues GM has been dealing with since the 80s? Who's to say this new Colorado won't follow the same trend? I wont get my hopes up for it, but it may surprise us. Still, it's a Chevy, they are a hit and miss when it comes to reliability.

And this is TW, we all know who the clear winner is. Toyota set the standard for small trucks, everyone else just tries to copy them.

I owned GM for 20 years till 2 yrs ago.

My wife had the frame rot on her 96 Tacoma in 2008. Toyota doing what they did for her showed me they care.

2 yrs ago my 5 yr old, 76K Colorado needed a head..look up the warranty on it for the whole horror show. 2 dealers "knew nothing" of this warranty till I printed it online and showed them..which took less than 5 minutes for me to find. Dealer 1 "ordered the parts" and 4 wks later "you know what I don't think the head is bad so I'm not fixing it". Dealer 2 charged me $2k for other things the head broke, swore to me GM would reimburse it once I paid and got my truck back. Well GM said no he could have called us to get approval. Each one says the other did it.

Most laughable is "oh this is normal". For a 5 yr old truck with 15k/yr to need almost a whole new engine when it is a commuter vehicle is laughable.

Finally got a chance to see one of the new Canyons. I was deer hunting last week and I spied one at the GM dealership in town. The truck was the quad cab full load all terrain 4x4, $39,999 Canadian. Mmmm yea......

One of the salesmen came out and asked me if I was impressed, I used to own a Colorado so he knew me. My honest reply was not really just from looking at the outside of it LOL.

The interior was nice(although I never set in it, I was going hunting) but it looked kinda cramped to me.

Should be a great truck for the city but not worth a GD in the bush stock IMO. I was real surprised how low the 4x4 all Terrain actually was, christ you would rip that air dam off in the mall parking lot LOL.

Attached are some comparison shots, my stock 2012 AC 4x4 (Canadian SR5 Package) and the Canyon 4x4 All terrain quad cab. Over all I would say that the Canyon was inch + lower at the frame compared to the Tacoma. The canyon is very low in the front because of the rake and design of the front end. I would not take this truck into my deer stand as is LOL, high and dry for sure. The canyon is also wider, IMO wider is not a good thing for bush travel.

At $40+ Canadian I think I would buy a full size.

Front, both trucks are at a slight grade down hill.

    So?

If I wanted a full sized truck for a full sized truck comparison, I wouldn't use my Tacoma.

For some reason, car manufacturers and some folks can't seem to wrap their head around the idea that a bunch of folks DON'T BLOODY WANT A FULL SIZED TRUCK.

Hell, the second gen base is as big as I'd want to go, and that's a reg cab and 15s. I won't drive a doublecab.

If I wanted a full sized truck...I wouldn't be looking for Tacomas!

    From the article:

The EPA rates the Colorado at 20/27/22 mpg city/highway/combined. Our Real MPG testing, however, found those figures to be just a little bit optimistic, the truck instead netting 16.8/23.6/19.3 Real MPG with us.

Still less than I got with both my Tacos so far ;)

That was my subtle attempt at sarcasm. I love my Taco and in its current stock state I easily knock down 22 something in stop and go. Highway is a different story. Doing 75 or above just kills the MPG. If I can get 22 MPG doing 75 MPH, I'd be okay with that.
