Anyone using Mobil 1 ATF vs Toyo WS?

If so, what is your experience? How many miles and did you do a full flush?

I'm interested as well. Seen some guys posting in other threads that they use mobil 1 ATF but no detailed geedback.

 

I'm interested too... I used M1 in my 4runner for 19 years and NEVER had an issue. Anyone else running M1 tranny fluid in auto?

 

I have used it in my 95 FZJ-80 Landcruiser and it seems to work well for the last five years....

 

I can't directly answer your question but I have been running Valvoline Maxlife atf in my tranny for over 30k miles. Shifts and runs fine. I don't notice a difference from the original fluid. It states on the bottle that Maxlife is a full synthetic and is compatible with Toyota WS fluid. The best part about it is the price, about $15 a gallon. I did a full fluid replacement using the cooler lines.

 

i also used valvoline maxlife atf, and no problems

 

I went motomaster instead of Toyotas WS. So far no issues shifting. Long term I'll keep the forum posted on.

Aren't you having trans overheat issues

 

I ran max life at 30k and 62k miles. I have never had a problem with it. Wal-Mart has the best price on it.

 

Hence why I'll keep you posted as to my results since I just did a Full Tranny Fluid change yesterday.

 

So I need to do my first Trans fluid change and rear diff. has anyone used Royal Purple and I know ATF means automatic transmission fluid but what does the WS stand for? I have a 11 TRD sport auto 4.0 Thanks

 

Also my owners guide say it takes11.5 quarts.?. isn't that a lot???

And yes, it takes 11.5 quarts for a full flush. It's fairly intensive for your casual DYIer but reading the instructions carefully and a couple times you'll be golden.
