05 TRD Off Road for $9500?

Looking through Craigslist and found a 05 TRD Off Road access cab 2wd for $9500.

The bad: It has 160,000 miles on it.

The guy says he wants to sell it this weekend so I may be able to get it for cheaper, but the blue book is around $12500 for it.

What do you guys think?

 

well i suppose thats really on you, r u ok w/ the mileage? and overall condition, maintenance etc would play a key role i suppose

The only thing im kinda iffy about is the mileage

 

The ad doesn't look as fishy as one of those scam ads, so it's definitly worth a look. Plus, w/ the new Wet Okole group buy going on, you can get some covers to deal w/ the hole in the driver's seat.

 

Yeah...It's high mileage...but I'd take a look at it at least...

 

Ya thats true. And one thing I noticed was that he doesnt say anything about the title.

 

I got my truck for several thousand under KBB, but it took some negotiating. It wasn't their list price.

 

Well I bet I could talk him down a bit and with that extra money maybe make it a V8 project?

I'm just commenting on the mileage. I sold my 2003 Tacoma at the beginning of the year and it had 162,000 miles. I commute 114 miles roundtrip everyday and kept up the maintenance.

I can tell you that when I sold it, it ran as good as the day I drove it off the lot. As a matter of fact I miss it terribly, b/c i am having issues with that dang 2009 transmission lag. If you come across a high mileage vehicle from a private owner I would just ask questions such as their commute/highway miles.

 

Yeah ill ask him about that. Im also curious as to how much towing he did with it because in the background there is a picture of a boat. The only reason that concerns me is my step brother got his Titan from someone who towed with it a lot and now his transmission is shot
