    Hello,

I'm planing on building up my rear end soonish.
I was just wondering how much the materials will cost roughly and what I need to start looking for. I'll be building and installing everything at home.
I will be taking it on OHV trails not planning on jumping it, but I already did lol.
I use it as my Daily Driver and will be loading it with construction materials sometimes maybe a little bit of towing.
My front end is a 3" Total Chaos Long Travel kit with Fox coilover with remote reservoirs, 2.5" diameter , 8" Travel, with King 600lbs 18" Length, 3" diameter springs.

    So far my list is,
    -Fiberglass Bedsides.
-Leaf Springs. Any suggestions? I'm thinking All-Pro Standard Duty Leaf Springs.
-Shocks. What length and diameter should I look for? Gas or oil Charged? What angle should I mount them?
    -Bed Cage
    -Bump Stops
    -Limit Straps

Where do I weld the shock tabs for bottom of the shocks? On top, behind or infront of the axle housing?
    Do I need different shackles?
Should I buy a U-Bolt Flip kit too?
Do I need to do anything with the driveshaft?

    Am I missing anything else?

Here's what I kind of had in mind for a bed cage.

Whats up dude. This is what i did for a bed cage. I think you need to decide if you are wanting to go with a spring over set up or a spring under first

Yeah that's what I've learned as well more up travel with SUA.

After looking around I think I'm going to get the Deaver F67s LT SUA for my 2007 Tacoma Access Cab unless anyone can give me more information or help me out a bit. :D

Do SUA and you will be soo happy with it. Do not do F67s as they are too soft for your truck. Do either Engage 50T pack or E30 from deaver. Or a custom pack or DMZ pack . SUA only, 16-18" shocks only! And some 2.5 bypass shocks such as triples. No bumps actually needed you can tune the bypass pretty well. Just some rubber bumps. Truck will ride more than well. I would do a cage such as the red taco above or the one with ads shocks. That would be the best for those trucks. Leaves plenty of bedspace.

Ah thanks man! I was actually thinking about texting or calling you and asking you lol.
The deaver e30 is the same as h70?

I just sent Engage an email on the price and how to order too.

I've been keeping an eye out for some FOX 2.5 16" tripples, but wasn't 100% sure what size I needed.

http://dmzfab.com/product/05-tacoma-spring-under-conversion-kit-standard-bed/ That seems like what I want, but I don't know where to weld everything...

Dmz spring under kit is perfect for you guys. 16" shocks doubles or triples. Yeah its not that hard to install. Dmz can walk you through the setup.

lol np we are all here to learn.

    I might go with that.

I'm going to get in contact with them and see exactly what that kit has and what else I would need.

Depends on your use. I didn't originally plan on doing everything I did to my truck and went with the Defined kit...that only lasted 6 months when I painfully realized the limitations of 14" of rear travel. But if you are not planning on being a go fast truck the Defined or Total Chaos SUA option will fit the bill. They also have options for heavy duty springs for your construction material needs. I have the e30 pack and its great, but I couldn't imagine throwing an additional 300-400lbs on top of what I normally carry in the bed without it riding on the bumps bumps. Plan for what you will be using it for 90% of the tie and you will be happy.

For now I'd like to have it not buck or bottom out on the bump stops.

The thing I fear the most is I buy everything, install it and am not happy with it. (Just for example if I built a mid travel rear.) I'd rather spend more now and do it once. I'm sure mid travel will be alot better than what I have now, but don't want to regret not doing a Long Travel rear.

I hear ya. I regretted putting in the Defined kit in, but that was because I like going fast and hitting the whoops with a full head of steam. Just wasn't enough travel for me.

Only side I was taking was the weight side. For longevity of the leafs over time the other options may be better. I had t add a leaf to my e30 pack even with my limited weight added to the bed (cage, lights. spare and camping gear). I put 30 cases of beer back there to take to a friends wedding and I was riding on bumps the whole way across town. Not sure what kind of weight you are talking about, but that would be my only cautionary note. My Defined kit was able to hold quite a bit of weight.

Yeah the only whoops I hit so far bucked the crap out of my rear end my friend said my wheels came off the ground... My friends that I go with have a stock 2013 Tundra and a stockish early 90s toyota pick up. So I'm not going to leave them behind, but if I find stuff I feel conformable doing I'm going to try it.

When I do day trips or "motel camping" my bed is usually pretty empty. My last day trip I just had, small tool box, drill, impact, ratchet socket wrench set, ropes, gopro case, drinks, snacks and a couple duffle bags of clothes all in my back seat. I'm sure there was more that's just what I can remember.

When I go camping I'll have all that stuff plus tent, air mattress, sleeping bag, pots pans ect.
My friend usally throws all the heavy stuff in his truck. He designates it the "Chase Truck" for me lol.
Loaded all up, 4 tires, tools, equipment, more tools before we left for Big Bear, CA.

The only extra weight off roading would be maybe 2 spares, small bed cage, a jack, I might get a tool box or tool chest.

I wasted money on a mid travel rear. AP standard springs with 12" kings 2.5.. its not what I wanted in the end. defiantly need more up travel.. prolly going to do dmz kit with FOA 16" shocks( 2.0 or 2.5?) is there really a difference?
