    hey guys,

ive been searching on the site, i can only find infor for a 3" lift, i currently have 265/75/16 with bilstein 5100's set at 2.5" and rear 2.5"aal. i have dick cepek dc-1 rims with -12 offset. i have all mudflaps on but they are the husky ones. wondering if i can fit 285/75/16 duratracs with minor trimming? or would i be better to go with a skinnier tire with the same height like 255/85/16? i dont do any offroading, just minor trails and fields etc. thanks for your help!

Where do you live? The 255's will have better traction in snow and it looks like you are in an area that gets snow?
With little offroading you could get away with minor trimming and run them probably.
There are a lot of threads on it... Somewhere...
Are you at 2.5" or 1.75"?

your going to rub pretty good with 285/75 16's ... buddy has those in a duratrac on his taco and he still rubs the cab mount even with the cab mount chop. Inner fender completely removed, pinch weld flattened, and he has fiberglass flares.

You will pop off stock fender flares with 285's if you do any sort of flexing.

I am running these with about 2.25-2.5" of lift and MB 352's (forget the specs). I rubbed pretty bad on a lot of the wheel well plastics and mud flaps. I ended up removing those after being unsuccessful with trimming. I don't rub on the cab mount at all (I only did the chop on the drivers side in prep and never needed to do the passenger side). I have done a lot of wheeling since and a lot of flexing so far and I don't think I rub anywhere else after trimming everything. My fender flares have yet to pop off nor rub even at full flex.

Go with the 285's op and do the minor trimming you won't regret it. They look awesome as well. I only take mine on hunting trails mainly and never had a problem.just make sure you have 4.5in back spacing or u will hit the uca

Yep same exact thing here, these wheels gave just enough clearance.

OP, this may not be an issue to you or is something you already know, but be prepared to take a ~3mpg loss. I am getting around 17-18mpg highway and city and about 15-17mpg off roading.

Ok cool, I'm running 255's on my truck with no issues. I'm a full 3" though :anonymous: haha
They will probably be a little better fit...
Spent a lot of time in Quebec. Buddy lived in Montreal and one in Huntington. We are only 1hr from Montreal.
    Truck is looking good!

I was south Malone area and Plattsburgh.

How much did you want to spend on a lift?
I'd say go full OME coils shocks and Dakars and some UCA'S if you can

It will be tight and you'll have to trim and probably do a CMC.

Ome or eibach coils. You can do 885s and a top plate or do 887s that's what I just bought. Or eibach has a 1.6in lift spring and a 2.5 both will need top plate and 1.6 springs can be set to .85 on the 5100s
