It would depend on the wheel width to determine which offset would work.
When I was wheel shopping, I used this site for wheel and tire calculations and comparisons:

It helped a lot in trying to figure out what would work on my truck, based on the factory wheels settings.

Here is the info for the factory wheels:

2005-2014 Toyota Tacoma 6-Lug Model - 2wd & 4wd
Factory TRD Sport Alloy 17x7.50 Wheel Offset = +30 mm - Back Space = 5.50" Inches
Factory TRD Off-Road 16x7.00 Wheel Offset = +32 mm - Back Space = 5.25" Inches

When I got new wheels and tires for my TRD Sport, I ended up going with 17x9, Offset=0, Backspace=5.00 inches. It gave me a little bit of additional space on the back side of the wheel and stuck out a little bit further on the front side. I also went with 265/70R17 tires.

 

im looking more towards the SCS sr8 rims in 16x8 with 4"bs and 12mm offset.

A few k of highway miles (5 to 8 k).. I would have to check the DOM on the side wall..Anything over 3 years old to me 1/3 new cost or pass..

Yeah they def dont look almost new to me. My 295 Grapps that I'm in the process of selling have much more tread on them then that (and same price).
Are you going to keep the 20's when you get 34 or 35's?

I hear ya, good deal & no money or money & no good deals to be found.
Ive been looking for a 1st gen for my son & found all kinds of good deals in our price range when we didn't have the money together, now that we have the money cant find any good deals in our price.
