Im looking to make a box for the bed of my truck that will hold snowboardiing boots and shoes for trips into the mountains. Keeping them in the truck takes up space and stinks, but tossingthem in the bed on a cold day can freeze them on a long trip. So im trying to develop a box that will keep them toasty and keep me from smelling them on a 3 hour drive. The smelly box.

I was thinkiing of just doing a plywood box with insulation, but i figured id ask this forum for any ideas to heat the box or to keep it warmer. Gracias!

    Summer's Eve FTW.

I have no idea. Get a metal truck box, and find some sort of electrically heated mat that contacts the metal box walls so it conducts to the box surface and radiates into the space. But apply it to the side of the box, not the bottom, so melting snow etc. doesn't fry it. And drill a drain hole or stick a marine hull vent on the side.

Oh, so you are 2nd gen and have power in the bed, right...

hey, these only cost a small fortune,
    http://www.coleparmer.com/Category/Silicone_Rubber_Heater_Blankets_with_Control_and_Adhesive/64552

So add a box, and for only ~$700 or so total, problem solved.
