i could argue that you aint hauling much with your 4 banger.i think its stupid to buy a 4 when you can get the 6.(i have nothing against 4 bangers just proving a point).less towing capicity/power with a 4 banger
do you thing the dodge ram with the viper motor is useless. it was made for one thing.its a 500hp pickup truck from the factory.its not a sports car and it will eat them all day long

You can haul plenty with a 4-banger, as hauling is more about your suspension than engine. I can't tow nearly as much as a 6, but my 5-speed transmission won't have problems with the pilot shaft (and if it does, its steel and replaceable) among the other problems that the 6-speeds have had, I get better gas mileage, and it's just as capable for off-road use. And guess what? SURPRISE! I bought the truck for trail riding and hauling, which it is completely capable of doing for me. So yes, I still made the purchase with function in mind.

The dodge ram with the v10 is still usable as a truck. I personally wouldn't spend that kind of cash for what you get out of it, but the point you're missing is that putting in a v10 doesn't make it useless.

You had a better point with my 4-banger, but the difference between it and a mini-truck is i get two things out of the 4-banger: a more reliable trans paired with it and fuel savings.

My problem with mini trucks is that you spend a ton of money making your truck look retarded and losing an awful lot of hauling capacity, as well as having trouble with ordinary driving (read: a truck on the ground can't go over a pothole, or anything for that matter).

With every vehicle selection, there are clearly tradeoffs. To me, there is no tradeoff with a mini truck: you're just choosing an ugly ass lowered truck that can't do anything. There's no benefit there.

All the parts I bolded in your statements is the reason having conversations like this just as pointless as discussion which oil filter is best, what oil to use, or which underwear is best...(Boxer-Briefs best of both world btw)....

You don't appreciate it...Neither does the OP...I'll never drive a truck like that. But the guys who do it love it. You are generalizing and not interested in being convinced....so just don't do it to your truck and let it alone??

And tell these guys: [IMG]that they aren't fast...

you do get different strokes for different folks....RIGHT????? just cuz you dont like it doesnt mean its retarded(most of the time)to spend alot of money on any toy and not get it back in resale is stupid but we all do it anyway. a mini truck with and airbag setup will still haul alot of shit in the bed.do you not agree.it will raise it when it needs to go over speed bumps or potholes. your coming off very angry about minitrucks and not sure why.there must be something behind it.
i think to buy a brand new truck and beat on it offroading is silly.my truck is my daily driver and needs to be dependable and get my family around in a safe manor.when i want to go offroad i'll take my quads, not my truck

There's no more to it, I just think, as I said before, that they're the dumbest things mechanically speaking I've ever conceived of, I hate the way they look, and I'll never understand why people do it.

I do understand different strokes for different folks. I never said I want to ban the damn things, I was just pointing out why I think they're the most idiotic things ever created by man - did you all forget that I'm as entitled to have the opinion that they're all retarded as mini truck drivers are to like them? :)

You are welcome to it....My point is that this whole thread started on the "Convince me that minitrucks are good" premise and it's not going to happen. You like what you like...no one is going to convince you otherwise on an internet forum...

I don't think you are going to find many people around here that'll argue with you about minitrucks...but ::shrug:: if you want to waste your time talking about how dumb they are...feel free...

I didn't start the thread, btw, I just apparently have a shared hatred with the OP. I don't care if I convince anyone, it's nice ventilation!

It's like what the guys in the various revolver forums say about .44 Specials "If you have to ask..."

    > I had an 1989 Nissan King Cab V-6 2WD, it was time for a new truck but I couldn't find a V6 Access Cab in anything but a Pre-Runner or Frontier. Nobody seems to make standard ride height, decked out truck longer. So, I got my TRD pkg truck and will make the changes I want, since Toyota doesn't offer them from the factory. <

    stock, for now
i dig both worlds of trucks. I love to see properly done bagged trucks, as well as stock to reasonably lifted trucks..Its all about the passion we all share.

Its when you start seeing N***** rigged trucks is when I loose respect for those people

OK I'm the OP, and first I must say that I don't have any hatred toward slammed trucks, I just didn't understand their point when I started this thread. I saw slammed trucks as kind of silly, but that's only because they would not serve any purpose for me. Now I think I do understand-- different people like different vehicles and different foods and different kinds of music and, well... everyone is different. So basically, if you like crawling or mud bogging, jack it up and get some meaty knobs because that will serve your interests. If you like better handling but still be able to haul some equipment and stuff, slam it down because that will serve your interests. Not everyone shares my opinion and I knew that all along, maybe I needed a reminder. My truck is going to stay stock... nice and normal and boring and useful and reliable. Because that will serve my interests, plus I really don't need any extra attention. Thanks everyone for sharing your thoughts and feelings about this topic, I am schooled. :)

Because sports cars are gay and trucks are cool, no matter what you do to them. My slammed truck hits turns like any sports car plus it hauls more steel and crap on a daily basis than most of them on here, yours included, I guarantee it. I'm glad you reposted with a good attitude btw...props to you for that.
