Craig, don't know if you took enough pictures, but could you do a write up on the body lift? I know you said its not too bad and took 4 hrs even though you a had one stubborn bolt, but just wanted to see the process and whats involved. If not no big deal. Thanks for the cool build page, love your truck.

installed by a certified toyota technician...work was overseen by another elder technician who's built numerous crawlers in the past...so don't think that was the issue..

This is the one I followed. Steering and gas fill were a little tricky but not hard. Also be sure not to over stretch the wires to your wheel sensors.

Yeah Andy, I remember you had issues with them too. I really had to keep after them just to ship the darn stuff.

 

Man I need a deal like that in my area... Wish they were 16's though.

 

Craig, are you or did you modify the bumpers to close the BL gap?

 

The front will need to be moved up about half an inch to look correct, the rear needs no modification it looks fine just the way it is.

 

If you only go up 1/2" wouldn't you end up with a bigger gap than before the BL? Or were you able to do some adjustment already without mods to the mounting brackets?

 

As it sits now there's a 1" gap, but before the BL the bumper was actually mounted a bit too close to the body anyway. Not nearly enough room for flex.

I've got to rework the two lower mounts on the bottom to allow room to move the whole works up. There's enough play in the front facing plate where it connects to the six frame studs to move it upwards without issue.

I've got a bigger issue right now tho. Trucks running WAY too hot & the heater took a shit. I drove it for a short hop today and had to quickly come home & swap back to the tC.

All indicators point to a bad t-stat but don't know for sure.

It's time to get the clutch knocked out anyway so a visit to the shop is in order.

I'm getting very tired of just looking at the crawlbox... Time to get it done!

 

I was just reading about the overheating issue on the nj thread... sorry to hear that.
Is the fan kicking in at all?

Any CELs? Specifically P0115, P0117 or P0118

 

No codes at all.

 

I guess I'm just wonding how you know it's actually overheating and not a faulty temp sensor? Are you reading the temp with ultragauge? And yeah it's super easy to check the t-stat, stick it in some water and see if it opens.
