So I go to Lowes, and someone hits my truck by pinching a cart between my front right fender/bumper and his truck. There are a few small scratches on the bumper. It is the bumper, so I am not too upset about that. But he pushed the cart into the fender flare, and it broke some of the clips. Luckily you can't tell unless you pull the flare away from the fender. So now I have to find a white fender flare.

Been there, someone hit my '67 Mustang while in the parking lot at my barracks. This was back in '87 but I still think about it. I know I saw the guy that did it many times in the barracks, I just didn't know who he was. I hate the fact that we could have been in the day room watching tv together and he never said a word. Cost me a full month's pay to get it fixed.

Man that sucks seen that happen last week Kroger parking lot lady backed out hit a van then gets out looks at her vehicle then drives back by the van she hit to look at the damage then takes off, I yelled at her lol and got her plate number, gave it to manager who says sorry we can't do anything, I said well atleast give the plate number to the owner... I always park out as far as I can I'd rather walk some then come out and find some ass parked right on top of me and ding the doors or worse... Good luck finding your flare...

D-bags are everywhere. When able, I try to park uphill from any shopping carts and well away from other people. I don't mind walking a bit since it gives me more time to glance back at my truck anyway. ;)

I walked 1/8th of a mile away from the closest fucktard tonight when picking up milk in 10° weather.
A good lesson to practice if you like your vehicles.

It never fails. You park far away, with no one around, and invariably when you leave the store there is some clapped out P.O.S. parked RIGHT. NEXT. TO. YOU.

Yeah, there was a nice lady that took the plate number down and left it on my window. I took that to the Sheriff that is always sitting in their lot. He said there wasn't anything they could do since it is on private property. I went in and asked the manager. He gave me a copy of the tape and I sent it to the insurance company. But the insurance company only has limited access to information and could not get he persons info since he hasn't had that vehicle repaired by an insurance claim. I even asked a friend that works at DMV and she couldn't give me the info nor could she give it to USAA.

In all, I'm out $500 (new ant painted) if the flare does get loose enough to flap in the wind.

super glue the little u brackets on the inside of the flare back to the flare and buy new clips at auto zone. Same thing happened to me and that's how I fixed my flare. Maybe $10 and 2 hours of time and it was fixed. 6 months later and countless hours at 80mph and it's still holding up. A lot cheaper than getting a new flare.
PM me if you have any questions about it.

for $500.00? Regardless if deductible is < 500.00, imo not good advice or worth the ding on a clue report and potential premium increase.

My wife's car got keyed in a grocery store parking lot.
Insurance recommended several body shops, I chose one.
The shop comped the deductible, only cost to me was the hassle.

So the shop was willing to waive the deductible most likely padded the quote to the insurance company or cut corners on the job. A common red flag and fuck them if they are doing this as it is a factor in higher premium charges for customers.

And, you may of not experienced a rate increase personally but, this is not the case as insurance premiums are fairly sophisticated in calculating risk and it may not be the same for all consumers.

    $1,000 deductible.

I called the insurance company. It would not have increased my premiums since it was not my fault. But when I took it to the repair place they recommended, the guy there gave me a $1500 quote. I even asked the guy to wipe the area off with something to clean the dirt off with. They tried to charge me to remove and repair the head light assy. It wasn't even touched by the other car.

I took my truck to another place. The estimator there came out with a rag and some compound, wiped off the area and cleaned it up really nice, showing that there wasn't a lot of actual damage to the paint. He said it will only be around $500 to buy a new flare and paint it/install.
