I don't give a fuck about the round discharged. It was an accident. Get over it. I want to know about the damage, if you have forgotten, this is what this thread is about.

Good on you. I appreciate the fact that you are willing to open a thread and take all the bull shit that goes with it.

    Patiently awaiting updated

[IMG] this is the only picture I took. The hole in the carpet is quarter size and the hole in the floor pan is the size of my fist. The Bbs didn't penetrate the cat but they hit it with enough force to rip it wide open at the bottom of it. I had the cat welded back together and the floor is being worked on now. Guys I understand how y'all feel about the discharge of a gun in a vehicle, I get it, yes the kid is a dumbass, no he shouldn't be around a gun after this without being taught proper and safe ways to handle one, and no I will never let the dipshit in my vehicle again. I didn't put it on insurance cause it would've turned into a mess. I'm only 20 and my truck is on my mother policy and she didn't want to file a claim after she talked to so many people about it. I'll try to get pics of where the cat got welded today.

Sounds like the cat should be ok, floor should be ok, tough lesson to learn, could have been so much worse.

A pair of weather tech floor mats, a sheet of 11 gauge metal, five minutes of welding, a new cat and you're good to go.

It happens. I've witnessed negligent discharges from highly trained soldiers that have a decade or more of experience in not only handling firearms, but training others in handling them. I've never seen anyone do it twice. The truck will be ok. You're alive and learned something, and your passenger will forever owe you a beer.

The instructor showed us this picture at the gun licensing thing I had to take...

Seeing things like that reminds you how careful you gotta be. One mistake and things can go very very badly very very quickly
