Pretty messed up Blue Cross wont cover the costs in my opinion.

DOesn't shock me that the birth was a million for a premature baby. Still, wow..

 

Everything in Canada is expensive, went up there for a fishing trip this past summer, and a can of chew is 23 bucks!!!

 

Delivery took place in Hawaii.

 

Damn that sucks, I know when my daughter was in the NICU for a month the bill reached 1/2 million. Luckily we had insurance and all we paid was our deductable.

 

She had the kid in the US otherwise the bill would have been zero duh

 

When I was born I was in the hospital for a month, was lifelined to a couple different hospitals, etc. My bill was over $750,000 22/23 years ago. Luckily my parents have Tricare and paid a $12 copay each day and that was it.

 

I know people dont like that insurance but it was honestly the only way a person like myself could ever get insurance. I have a preexisting condition and insurance companies wanted $1750 every month just to insure me..

haha trust me i know about beer and good food. i spend about 300 a month just eating out everyday for lunch at work. should probably start packing a lunch one of these days though.

You're an idiot , she was pregnant but the kid was over 2 months premature and purchasing travel health insurance immediately prior to travelling is normal . All Canadians are " insured " for health coverage while in Canada and you buy travel health insurance to cover you if you get sick / hurt in a foreign country

If a Canadian in the US, or likewise an American in Canada has a life threatening accident/need for hospitalization, the bill is covered by the visitor's home country. The key phrase is life threatening.
