    dont get me wrong, its not annoyingly loud or anything, and i love the setup.... i dont need any of it either.... but i love it :).

    Well guys and girls, i re-geared to 4:10s after putting on the 6 in lift and 33's and my mpg still only gets about 15mpg????? I did notice that it stays around 2200 rpm's at 70-75 mph on the highway.

    yes sir. after reading alot on which ratio to go w/ the majority told me 4:10 for 33's. so i did that but really didnt notice any better mpg's which was what i was hoping for :mad:

    Interesting. When I regeared my Dodge, I went from 12 mpg to 14. Every time I have regeared, I have improved mpg.

    On my Dodge, I went from 3:55's to 4:10's. Went from 31" tires to 32's.

    My rpms went from about 1600 at 65, to about 2200 at the same speed.

    the 2 mpg gain doesn't seem worth a gear change on 32's? also, seems interesting that 98tacoma27 didn't get any form of gains. wonder what went wrong...

    Your never gonna make your money back on a gear change. I do it to ease some of the burden off the tranny and engine. When you get larger tires, more stress is put onto the drive train. Also, gains are dependant on peoples driving characteristics.

    well, i do know that the 6in lift doesnt help anything. but you are right, it does help to take the burdon off of the tranny.

    Lots.
    If you just wanted to re-gear for stock tire size (265/65/17) and wanted some more torque. A little more rubber on the ground, what would you re-gear to?

    Either 4:10, or 4:56...Depending on your priority. 4:56 would get your rpms up kinda high.

    I was at an offroad shop having my resis charged and I asked the guy about regearing to 4.56. He gave me a quote of $750 installed. Is that average?
