Excuse the borders. It's something I was playing with to see if I liked it, and forgot to tone it back some ha I like the extra pop but I want to make it thinner at least.

Those are great, the second stands out for me. I am a big fan of backlit shots and subjects!

His face was super dark so I dialed the exp. comp. down to get a sort of silhouette. But then he raised up that book and it made a perfect fill reflector! Ha I was glad he came to read.

If you can swing it I would highly recommend Lightroom. Don't know of any free programs.

LR is the only program I've paid for and not felt like a dunce for wasting my money.

On a side note, I downloaded (and paid for) the Nik Collection. I'm asking for a refund. Garbage. Anyone use these with good results? I feel like they're just advanced instagram filters . . .

GIMP, but its features are limited for photo editing and I do not think it has a raw converter. Nikon Capture NX-D is similar to Lightroom and is free. Not sure how well it will work with non-Nikon images as it is designed to work with Nikon camera raw images.

The adapters are lacking-but I dealt with it with the Nikon 10-24...maybe.

How easy is Light room to use? I'm currently using a free Photoshop after they had some malfunction, they handed out a rather old version for free. Are they similar to use and adjust to or would it be easier to just get an updated photoshop?

Generally I don't have to do much editing, photography wise aside from some levels or black and white. But I love photoshop for the other art work I do, tattoo plotting, t-shirt design ect.

If you are solid in PS, Lightroom will be easy to pick up. Being from the same developer, a lot of the UI is familiar between the two.

Lightroom is very easy to use. It also acts as a file manager so its very handy to sort through photos. There are tons of great tutorials on LR on youtube.

it is well worth the money. I use it 80% of the time if not more for all my photos and Full PS for super involved edits. But LR is an awesome program. It was my first one and i have no regrets.

    the surface 3?

I know it'll run full Photoshop so Lightroom will run no problem.

This will be insane if the AF is even better than the a6000.
It's awesome that Sony has about 99 bodies, but it'd be nice if they would work more on their lens roadmap. They have about 2-3 out I would even remotely want. The roadmap looks NICE, but when will we see it? ha

I think Sony is going to kill it in the "Pro" market with this new body and their new lenses.

I am 100% Fuji and see a lot of pros using them, but the AF is the downside to mirroless cameras, so if this new body is Full Frame AND offers the best AF on any mirrorless camera, and arguably better than DSLRs, you can bet a ton of people will be all over that.

Except as you point out. Glass choice is shit. Okay..that was harsh..but still. For a lot of people it won't be worth it as they have invested in good glass. And Sony has hardly any glass.

What dslr are you comparing it to as far as AF. It might be able to drive the 2 lenses Sony has, but as far as I'm concerned that little body just doesn't have the poop to drive anything good. Maybe I'm thinking the wrong line of work but no way will it drive lenses like the 70-200II or 24-70II two of canon most popular zooms?....

I have a GH2 so am kinda familiar with the pitfalls. But it was also an eye opener to the mirrorless world. Sony put an insert into the last issue of American Photo. There are a bunch of 'articles' by people I am familiar with-all the usual good stuff. Then there are Sony ads and it looks like there are a fair number of available lenses either available or coming to market. So from that perspective, it seems like they're almost there.

If the A9 truly is what the rumors say it is, that could be "the one". On the other hand, Canon comes out with new bodies once and a while too. And you can argue that some recent changes are reason enough to stick with the brand. Who knows? Interesting times ahead!
