Just wanted to give you guys a photo update on my little uca problem. Thanks again chris. Turned out beautifully ended up using our aircraft toolboxes to do it at work it was fun, and yes im going to wipe that grease off.

 

Same thing happened to me. The same side and bushing. Weird. I stopped before it bulged out though bc it got tough to pump the grease in. Glad you got it fixed.

 

Many years ago almost 30 I worked as a mechanic at a large amusement park year round. One summer night the grease crew did the Philadelphia Toboggan roller coaster a wooden one. They had so much grease in the wheels when the operators ran it the next morning empty it stopped on the hill going into the horsehore curve. We used a front end loader to drag it up the hill, it had 4 cars each weighing 2100 lbs so we could not push it up. We rocked it back and forth once on the horseshoe curve and then ran on the cat walk pushing it, jumping into the seats before it went over the next hill heading the the station. Then a bunch of us heavier weights rode the dang thing and the 2nd train for an hour making sure it would make it around the track empty.

Moral= more grease is not always better. Someone should count the number of pumps it takes to properly grease the different UCA's in use. Make it a note someplace on the forum.

Oh ya the park was Cedar Point ever heard of it? The coaster was the Blue Streak.
