    Could be.
I haven't been single in years, so I haven't been keeping my wrists and forearms in shape. :D

From what I've read/heard, my understanding is this:

.300 Savage was designed to compete with the 30-06 in terms of velocity. I think it's generally about 200fps slower than most of the loads for '06, though. It's close to the .308 in energy and velocity, but again it's slower. The 300 Savage usually runs around 2200-2500 ft/lbs of energy.

The 300 blackout was designed to compete with the 7.62X39 but in AR platforms. It has lower energies and lower bullet weights (with the exception of subsonic rounds) than the 300 Savage, usually down around 1300 ft/lbs. The .300 blackout is also frequently loaded to be subsonic, but that decreases the bullet energy by a LOT, usually down around 400-600 ft/lbs.

So, basically they're both a 30 caliber round, but one (300 Savage) was designed as a full-size, full power rifle cartridge and the other (300 Blackout) was designed as a lower-power submachine gun round.

Ostrichsak or one of the other gun nuts could probably give you a better definition, though. I'm just a spare-time hobbyist.

The 300 blackout was designed because people wanted a .30 caliber that they could shoot in as short as 9 inch barrels.
It was also designed so that there is no adjustment needed to run sub or super sonic suppressed or unsuppressed, and the designer wanted it to use 223/556 bolts and magazines (to full capacity).

It works great for short range (out to 100 yards) hunting for pigs and deer.

300BLK was designed for suppressed SBR AR15's which is where it shines. Although some do, I wouldn't own one except for that role. Works fantastically for hunting hogs.

There's mine on the top (AAC 9" 300BLK on SBR'd LMT lower w/various other goodies):

The only LMT in the pic, at least lower wise. The top one with the can.

No sir. The one in the middle is a SBR'd LMT running a 12" LMT monolithic rail platform CQB piston driven upper. Love that thing. One of the best handling AR's I've ever run and ultra reliable and has done everything I've ever asked of it and then some. If it comes to trusting my life to it it would be Glock in a handgun and LMT in a rifle.

Huh, the one on top looks like an LMT lower.

Yep on the trust factor, that is exactly my set up. Except my AR is LMT top and bottom. There isn't a piece on it that moves where it shouldnt. NO rattling what so ever. Never had a jamb, nothing wrong. EVER.

    Good choice in weaponry.

They both are. I was saying no sir as in it's not the only one in the photo. Top rifle is AAC factory 9" 300BLK upper and LMT lower. Middle one is full LMT rifle using the best upper they make MRP CQB piston.

Speaking of lowers... here's 5 unicorns in the wild. Non-Chainsaw (non-blem, first run) Noveske 2nd gen forged lowers.

I've posed a few of my firearms from time to time here's my latest EDC a .40 Shield with APEX duty/carry action kit and enhancement trigger. Also added Ameriglo Pro-IDOT sights a 100% realiable carry gun, quick on target. This gun reads my mind, excellent fit, finish, small form factor and I could go on and on.

How do you like the Ameriglo? I'm looking for new sights for my shield, switching from a glock to the narrower/ beefier (if that makes any sense) sights on the Shield my targets are atrocious. Having problems focusing.

Black out the rear dots (with a sharpie just to try it out) I was having problems focusing on the front dot too. The 1 dot really works wonders for me with my Shied.
