Installed an older computer in the garage today. I have wanted one in here for a while. Added a TP-Link Wireless USB adapter and getting 65Mb speed across the network. I will run a hard wire connection back to the router in a few weeks.

Not too bad for a 6 year old Intel Core i7 920 @ 2.67GHz processor. This is in a Dell Studio XPS with 20Gb of memory.

Haven't been on for a while, but since I'm lying around doing nothing,decided to come on & see what's going on with my fellow geezers. Reason I'm lying around is I threw my back out on Sunday washing my wife's car...Had to move the couch on Monday and made the back even worse. Sucks to get old.

Sorry to hear about the dogs, but happy about the new pups!

Weather here is really nice this week, with highs in the mid 80's & lows in the lower 70's, with brisk tradewinds. Really nice since I just got new windows put in on my house, doubling the ventilation.

Good news from the lava front, it's stalled and my friends & family have a bit of a break from worrying if they'll have a house to go home to.

Evening all:
Was just listening to a heated discussion on the news about the new immigration law, and had to switch channels. Disgusting!
Seems most of the country wanted something done, and now that the Pres. took the bull by the horns, he's being crucified.
Still don't understand why some of these idiots don't want to come to terms with "ILLEGAL"!
This should have been resolved years ago, but due to incompetence, nothing was done about it!

 

What was wrong with enforcing the last law that was passed??

Morning All ...TGIF. Been busy with the son this week on a new project his company is working on. We are making 7 prototype shower/toilet units for a quarantine shelter. One has to be done today and the rest by wed. so far we are on schedule. Be glad when today is over.
