My 04 Taco was totaled after being T-boned last week :( I loved that truck! She had 120,000 miles under her belt and many more left in her.

Now I'm searching for my next Taco. I've found an 04 with 70,000 miles in pretty pristine condition, asking price is 18k. I've also found an 08 with 150,000 miles on her, asking price is 16k. They both are Double Cab 4WD-SR5/TRD Off Road Package, just like my old one :)

I was a big fan of my 04 and have read all over these forums about the quality of that first generation build.

How does the 08 stack up against the 04? What would you choose?!?!?!

the 08 will be nice, is larger. as far as quality, having only owned a second gen i can say the quality is still good. 18k for a 2004 truck is steep. 16k for an 08 with 150,000 miles is steep too. both are nice trucks. i would get the one with less miles.

I can pick up the 08 with the insurance money, the 04 will cost me some cash out of my pocket. I've also seen an 03 with 105,000 miles going for 14k. Decisions, decisions...

No way would I pay 16K for a Tacoma with 150K on it. That is absolutely nuts.

idk, around here (oklahoma) my 07 with 130k miles was $16k. and that was cheap compaired to others in the area. i guess location has alot to do with the prices of these trucks.

2004 F-350...uh lots of motor work to go fast...er. Way to much to list. 2001: 3" leveling kit, ARB bumper, lightforce 240 blitz, 35" KM2s. SOLD 2008: OME 886s 90000 with dakars, LR UCAs, 5% tint, Satashi. SOLD 2015: Flooded and Gone
I've had both at the same time and although the look of the 1st Gen is awesome to me I like more power under my foot. And the 2nd Gen does has a little bit more room front and back. The 1st Gen wasn't comfortable to sit in the back but the 2ng Gen is pretty comfortable.
