What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Oh man. I saw a guy here yesterday that had a white color matched ARB or someething bumper, rear one chrome....at least derp it

The guy I saw yesterday had same bumper, color matched super white, looked awesome. Then I see his ass and it's chrome and thought...WTF? Guess I shouldn't of checked out the ass!

 

Alright guys, I've got a question for you second genners.

My buddy has a 2014 Tacoma with the Entune Nav system and he is wondering how to go about getting his screen to play movies while driving. Any way this is possible? I have no idea, so I told him I would ask my resources

 

Ground the wire that makes it not work (hand brake wire).

 

Ground wire (probably green, but look up the harness) is grounded to the ebrake, or the park brake. Pull the headunit out and find it, then just attach it to any of the metal framing behind the stereo or dash.. it will always be grounded and you can watch movies while moving, instead of only in park.

Done in the past, but never on a stock vehicle. I imagine the process is similar.

So pull the radio out, and cut the wire so that it goes from the back of the radio to a ground?

I grounded mine to a bolt behind the dash. Worked instantly.

The video uses a relay...Why is that preferred over just grounding the single wire?

 

Yeah green is pretty much the standard.

You need a relay with some head units but 9 times out of 10 you just ground it to a random bolt.

Just follow the first couple minutes of what he did. (when he grounded it to the top of deck).

I've installed decks quite a bit in my time. Grounding that wire to a bolt has worked everytime.

 

Awesome, are there any tricks for getting the nav screen out? I've never messed with it before and I don't want to go snapping any of those cheapy single-use plastic clips

 

Entune navigations radios will play DVDs?

 

Apparently if you have the parking brake set? I don't really know...I've never messed with it
