just the truck or bikes to?

 

I don't have any bikes/atvs yet so I'm just bringing the truck but a few of my buddies have both so we're good to go. Would you say that this is a truck friendly place or should I not plan on driving in the dunes?

 

SInce this your first time i wouldn't adventure in the dunes to far with your truck. I would make sure you have a xtra truck with you or utv to be able to pull you out. Skinny peddle is your friend in the dunes. 12-15 psi is about what you need in your tires. High and wide is my moto even on a quad.

Make sure you have Whip for your truck. Cause glamis is going to crazy during thxgiving.

 

duning it is definitely not truck friendly. you really need to know what your doing out there or you can get screwed REAL quick.


im leaving this saturday and staying till the following sunday.

but YES some people can dune in their truck, my friend and i to be specific. but i grew up riding in the dunes on quads/dirtbikes so its natural to me. you basically gotta drive your truck like a rzr/rhino, hammer down, and not be scared. and have spare parts. LOL
out of years duning it, i have only seen a truck duning it maybe 2-3 other times. some jeeps with huge engines with paddles front and back put put through the dunes sometimes haha

Thanks for the tips guys. I actually went to the Pismo Jamboree this past Summer - again a first - so I did plenty of research ahead of time. I knew to air DOWN (15psi). I also didn't venture far w/o a buddy and I knew about the high and wide so I avoided that all together.

 

glamis is a way different/bigger beast than pismo. sand way softer. dunes way bigger and gnarlier.

been working on my truck for a week straight for this dam trip. my rear axel is bent on both sides pretty bad and my front frame is tweaked a little because i cant get my engine back in the mounts

hell yeah ryan it is! he had it out during halloween and god dam that thing rips like no other. its ridiculous. grabbin gears the whole way up olds too.


ill tell you what, doing 100 mph through a bowl in a rhino will do something to a man.
