Are people finding the ST Maxx is shorter than the competitors 255 size?

Well Cooper's specifications for the tire actually put it at being shorter than a 285/75r16. Like 32.7 or something. And once you put the weight of the truck on them, it's even shorter, naturally.

The reason I say this is because there are only 3 sizes on TireCrawler that are on backorder. Both 255/80r17 and 255/85r16, and also 315/70r17. The 255/80r17 specs on Cooper are also rather short.

maybe I should go back to KM2. Loved those tires and got some pretty good wear out of them. I drive the slab quite a bit and figured the ST Maxx would be a good compromise when considering road noise.

    265-75-16 on scs f5 wheels 3.5bs.
The sidewall lugs come in handy, they get more use than the main tread on the trails

You guys are making really want these tires. I have an 06 trd dbl cab and been running 275/65/16 bfg's on stock wheels. I thought the bfg's were awful on wet and snowy roads. Hoping these would be better. Should I stick with the same size?

I hated my BFG's in the rain and snow as well. I've had very very little use in snow so far but felt great the 10 miles or so I did drive in it. I think they will do very well. A narrower tire would be better for snowy roads

Got the tires put on over the weekend. I like them so far had to remove the front flaps they rubbed while turning but it's all good not as narrow as I thought they would be but they are Def taller than my 265's

These tires are amazing. They are a little heavy but 3 ply sidewall is great. Just got back from Lake Tahoe past weekend. On street tire pressure, I was plowing through snow. I'm running 285/75/16
