I have a '10 reg cab and I just want to level her out a bit. There is SO MUCH info on here that I am confused! I think what I want to do is 5100's. Do I need different springs? I realize that spacers are a no-go if I want to keep my stock handling. Why is the toyotec kit $799 for adjustable and 599 for not adjustable? The shocks alone are $219. Does that mean springs are like $500? Do I need adjustable shocks? I just want 1 1/2 inches of leveling or so, would I ever adjust them? And why can't I use certain shocks on my regular cab? I never thought I would have trouble with too much info available! Any basic explanation is welcome. Explain Like I'm 5.

    Gracias, my Taco Brethren.

ok, you can get away with your stock springs and 5100s, but your best bet is to get some aftermarket springs like OME. You shld set them to 1.75 on the front.
If you want to go for your best value, you shld get 5100s all around and an add a leaf

    I wouldn't run OME coils with 5100s

Some flags and center console divider... lots of things on the wanted list.
I know someone who did, and everything worked out great. He hasn't had a problem with them yet.

    What is your budget?

    1. You could use 5100's and stock springs preloaded at 1.75. (preload is kinda the same as an in-coil spacer)

    2. You could use OME springs and shocks without preload.

    3. Fully adjustable coilover, but thats money...

If I were you I would do 2.

Obviously there are tons of other options, but I wouldn't recommend 5100's and OME coils although a lot of people do it.

I'm not arguing that you can't. I know a lot of people on here have run them. But, eventually the billies will fail because they are not valved to work with OME coils.

Buy once, cry once. Do it right the first time.

since you have a reg cab, I would just go with 5100s set at 0.85 and stock springs. it will give you more than .85" of lift - any single cab guys here that did that??

    Thanks!

So, 5100's got it. Non-adjustables, right? What springs should I get? Best bang/buck?
