Was reading more on the aev brute, and it says rear bumper holds 7 gallons of water?
    Hmm...
Thinking of some custom stainless tanks behind the bumper and/or in the bedsides now...

Howzit gang! I currently am looking to buy a Tacoma. I will be selling my 2012 scion xb and was looking for a truck that I can get that will be close to what I pay now for the xb which is $250/mo. I've been checking CL and found a few 1st gens 02s that were around 11k. That is what I am looking for at this time. When my kid goes to kindergarten I can use the money that I pay for child care for my new hopefully 2016 tacoma. I just wanted to throw it our there if you guys know of anyone wanting to sell their truck. Needs to be double cab for the keiki. Mahalos gang!

250 a month? If you want a new Tacoma you're going to be paying way more than 250 a month. I'm currently paying about 800 on a 5 year plan. Just to give you an idea. I have a 2013 that I purchased fresh off the lot.

You didn't miss a whole lot, when I got there they were reading off the new rules..

The Q&A time got a little heated in the beginning about placement of the sticker; left side on rear bumper, and a remark about "putting an ugly sticker on my $2k bumper with $5k paint job." That guy kind of went off on a tangent more about having a place to wheel instead of what DLNR's priority is for Ka'ena.

The sticker itself fells pretty cheap, but can't expect much from initiating a brand new system. Another notable suggestion instead of a sticker was a placard to hang from the rear view mirror.

I could expect that people wheel off of the designated roads will be fined...since registering for a permit means you are now aware of the designated roads.

The main vibe I got from it is to keep the rental cars and non-capable cars out. Which would cut down the traffic and help maintain the resource.

you should have to take an intelligence test before they give you a permit

That, and they should enforce the rules. If someone does get cited, make it like recon. They tear up your permit, peel your sticker and not re issue you another until you pay your fine.

for the most part, I thought they did a decent job of trying to keep everything as simplified as possible.

So is it easier to just apply for your permit on-line rather than having to go down to one of the meetings??

dlnr-please don't use that money from the permits for pay raises, paving roads/walkways and barricading the trail, or for stupid things such as a security booth with ac or for new atv's for better enforcement. Informational signs and more rubbish cans/recycling bins would be welcome.

anyhow, you're gonna have the guys who sell the truck and leave the sticker…or eople like me switching it on to every "new" truck he buys.

Applying online is probably the fastest way, just have to wait 5+ days to get the permit in the mail.

The permit is free and DLNR plans to keep it that way. From the meeting last night, it is not out to generate revenue from this.

The sticker will be numbered and will correspond to each permit, so I'm assuming it's just like recon. If you loose the paper permit, then it's no longer valid.
