    Morning Ken and Tom.

OxyClean for the carpets, never thought about that. I use it on my bloodstained hunting gear and gamebags and it does wonders. Makes a lot of sense. We'll have to give it a try.

Me too on the independent voting. Generally, unless the candidate is a whacko, I vote against incumbents lately ... probably will until I start seeing something productive being done. I refuse to not vote, just goes against my principles, but it's been too long since I felt really passionate about anyone I voted for ... probably why the whole politics thing just really makes me sad lately. :notsure:

Cheech, mind that back - golf is a dumb pastime anyway! :stirthepot:

Charlie, that '33 is one sexy beast.

Registering independent in PA means you can't vote in the primaries; those are only open to registered Dems/Repubs. Registering Republican gets you a better shot at state government gigs, or so I'm told.

I have the congressman I have because of some very creative district map making, a.k.a. gerrymandering. Click here, then click the map to zoom in. Take a look at the Philadelphia area and Berks County.

I have to agree with Rob, I don't get too excited about any of them these days. All I'm sure of is that money talks, more than ever since Citizens United. I don't have enough money to play the game. I'm pretty sure that most politicians these days are the polar opposite of what the founders had in mind. "A republic, if you can keep it." With the amount of money involved these days I fear that we won't.

All of my official work is done today. It is rest and relaxation time now.

Yesterday was the anniversary of an annuity policy my wife and I have, Over the first 3 years the policy has averaged 12.66% per year after fees are paid. I am liking the policy. It should more than double over the 10 year growth period. If the market has 3 good years in the next 7 the policy will more than double.

Rob I agree with you. The last presidential candidate I had a strong passion for was Ronald Regan. Today he would not be welcomed in the republican party. He would be seen as too liberal and too eager to work with the opposition party. That is sad on a lot of levels.

    :woot: for R&R.

And agreed on President Reagan. He was a huge part of my decision to join the military. His ability to work with the opposition was probably a huge part of how he brought the Cold War to an end. I know it ended during Bush 41's term, but IMO it was Reagan's victory.

I'm glad to read you post this about Reagan, as I've often wondered if my passion for him was a result of my being young and naive at the time. But in a way it also makes me sad to know it's not just that. :( Indeed sad on a lot of levels.

    evening boys....

X whatever on Ronnie!!! Not fond of 99% of either party these days.

We had a guy here in SC a few years ago running for congress I think. had 0 $$, like one suit, no real vision yet he got a bunch of votes. Talked to one of the guys at work and he said didn't matter - STRAIGHT party voting.

Got the oil changed in the car this morning and wasted a salesmans time :D He came and started talking to me as I was looking at a RAV 4. Drives nice, nice acceleration. Seat's kinda hard

Nice old vehicles Charlie... hope you aren't doing too much....
