That reminds me. I need to make an appointment to get my free oil change at the dealer. I'm almost up to 5000 mi and they said I get a free oil change every 5000 up to 50,000 mi. I might as well take advantage of that.

And yes, ramps come in handy. I use them for the wife's Passat. They bring it up 10" in the front, that's plenty to crawl under there.

After having the GM 3400 engine in a van I will never buy a vehicle again without checking on the motor's reliability. When the dealer says oh you got 120K out of the motor you were lucky you know you were had by the sales team.

After looking at the options for a Disney cruise we will not be doing that. Airfare is the deciding factor. Cost around $2,400 for the three of us. Not really worth the cost.

Looking at doing something else over the Holidays now. Need an inexpensive 3 day get away.

Good morning Rob. Getting warner here. Probably in the 50's today. Might wash the vehicles today.

My Chief's Son-in-Law's parents have a cabin in Vermont they all go to for the holidays each year. They live in upstate NJ. Maybe a bed and breakfast or cabin type deal in the Appalachians or something similar. What's Assateague like in Winter?

If the winds are down, I think I'll start putting up my Christmas lights. I put up Halloween lights and the grand kids got such a kick out of it; motivates me to get the Christmas lights up early. :)

    Morning Everyone:wave::D.

    Good one Carl.

Below is a picture of where I'll be spending Thanks Giving. Makes for a nice long relaxing weekend. Indoor camping:D at it's best.
This time of the year it can be a bit expensive to get away. Thank goodness for the internet and surfing the travel webs. You can get all kinds of info and pricing on travel deals.

Good luck with the lemon law Charlie. I might be following you with the wife's Kia Sportage. It's a long story, but if they don't get all the problems resolved this time around, it's lemon law time. 1 1/2 years with problems is way to long.

 Morning Ken. That's exactly the kind of place I was thinking off. I'd love to do something like that. It'll have to be after I convince my wife to retire. Long as she's working for the big W, holiday season is retail hell for her. :(

    :pccoffee:  Morning folks.

Thanks for the hot rod pr0n Charlie! Take the CRV for a drive before you buy it. We have a 2011 and I think it is a bit underpowered. The 2012+ got a power boost I think so they might be ok.

+1 on the ramps. I have an ancient pair of metal ones. They have a trough where the tire rests. Pretty hard to drive off the end of them because of it. I don't know what newer ones might look like but I assume they do something similar.

All of that being said, my Taco is going into the shop tomorrow for service. :anonymous: My excuse is they're going to put tires on it so why not let them do the oil change too? It's a local shop I trust a lot so no worries in that department.

    Afternoon all:
Power went off at 10:25 this morning, looked out the front window and see wires down in my driveway, and the the pole across from my driveway just hanging there. Walked down, to see what's going on.
Couple of kids in a mini cooper--totaled! I would say they were moving pretty good. Looks like he came around a turn, lost it, skidded across the front of the neighbors yard, sheared off the pole, and ended up about 50' past it. Luckily they weren't hurt. Got power back on at 2:45, and cable hooked back up at 3:20.

    Carl:
Takes a decent blow to take down a phone pole. Guess the two will find out how much a replacement pole and the install cost when they have to pay the cost. Glad no one was hurt though.

So I was checking out Facebook today, and on the local Yard Sale was this smoker. The couple bot it, used it one time, and decided to get a bigger model. They listed it for $200, so I offered $175, and they took it. I just got back from picking it up. Now I have to learn to use it. Sweet!:):):D:)
