I made it to level 20 last night. Was surprised when it told me I'd reached max level until I find Light armor. I did find some boots with 5 light I think it was. Are there certain missions I should focus on to acquire this armor or do I just wonder around in hopes of stumbling across it?

 

Just wander around and do strikes to get better armor. Then eventually buy vanguard legendaries

 

OK. I did a strike Friday and didn't get squat. At the end of it I was wondering what the hell the point was. There were 3 of us in there. I didn't know the two on my strike team it was random. It seemed one of them hid the whole damn time while two of us did all the work. Then after the boss was dead, it was over and I didn't get a damn thing other than some snake armor or something like that. It wasn't legendary that's for sure.

 

You wont get legendary from the strike unless you are lucky. But you get vanguard marks which are used to buy armor/weapons. The higher strike playlist (tiger) gives the most marks and reputation (which you need level 2 rep to buy armor, 3 to buy weapons). Youll need to be around 23-24 to start that playlist i suggest. The lower playlists give less marks/rep.


Edit:assuming you are in the vanguard playlist. Next to the crucible on the destination selection. Regular strikes on the planet map dont give marks or rep

 

the normal strikes are mainly just for grinding marks and rep. I speed through them just to farm engrams to get my cryptarch up, while I wait for the weekly refresh

the level-up postmaster rewards havent liked me lately though. gotten more legendaries from decrypting the engrams themselves than the level up bonus

 

I just got the Cryptarch up to 60 and I can't remember the last time I got a legendary from him. I've had the best luck with just random drops after a strike. I've gotten many legendaries and probably 3 exotic weapons from them. RNG is a bitch sometimes.

 

2 weeks in a row i get strange coins for nightfall. Bullshit. Especially when its less than the weekly!

 

That sucks... I've got 47 right now. Guess I'll be buying and dismantling armor tomorrow since I can't get Accendant shards for shit.

 

Hoping ill get a helmet finally for the titan. otherwise i dont have any use for xur, got plenty of exotic weapons already

 

Yeah, you and me both. I'm leveling up the exotic helm for the warlock right now. I swear to christ I can't buy a ascendent shard. I've got 67 ascendent energy sitting in my vault right now AND I've leveled every weapon I've got??? WTF?

I'll be on all day saturday but I think I would hold you guys back if you do hard mode. I would like to learn the raid but I'll have to find a group that is willing to teach it to me. I've run it but just got drug through it without understanding the last part.

 

Idk if we will be doing hard. i know we cant without 30s. Ill see what everyone is wanting to do, but im betting normal. Ill let you know.

I got the invective bounty tonight from turning in 1 iron banner bounty lol too stressed out to play tonight though. My connection sucks ass. Time to do hood rat things on gta to blow off some steam
